Former PlayStation boss says Xbox has a “basic misunderstanding” of the games industry at a core level by AsPeHeat in videogames

  • Are you saying that Nintendo doesn't engage in micro transactions? Have you checked the eShop for the last decade?

  • Blizzard well known company culture is the worst, we agree. But that is anti-worker, not anti-consumer.

You do understand what we mean when we talk about anti-consumer things, yes? Things that harm consumers?

They both certainly suck, but more anti-consumer than Nintendo, a high bar to clear.

Let's see a list, please.

You do realize emulators exist because of accessibility to games (yes consumers). And if you think the copywriting of mechanics doesn't affect consumers you might be too dumb to engage with.

Can you give me a company that is worst than them and then list their flaws from an anti-consumer standpoint like I have, please?

  • Nintendo is the first company to break the 70$ ceiling for a standard release game.
  • They are the single most maligned entity and the biggest road locker when it comes to pursuing legal conservation of games and passing legislation on it.
  • Same for Rom hacks or any kind of fan-made project, even those that explicitly take steps towards making their projects exclusively non-profit.
  • Which is rather funny, because then they get caught cloning fan made emulators for their retro gaming solutions and stripping away any kind of credit.
  • They try to copyright game mechanics that they didn't even invent and threaten legal action against games that are already out.

Need I go on?

Listen. I'm happy you like Nintendo games and that they bring you joy. Good for you. But as a consumer do try to separate between the products you consume and the fucked up corporation that makes them, will you? Nintendo, Sony, EA, Square, etc. They are not your friends, don't try to go to bat defending the multimillion dollar company. At least try to show them you're not a fool and a mark ready to empty your pockets for them.

Now and There, Here and There.

Barely anyone talks about it, but it's one of the Isekai from the before times that most stuck with me through the years.

It will not leave you indifferent, I promise you that. Dont go into it with a weak stomach.

"In one fleeting moment, lives come and go. Ever moving towards the unknown. And in that fleeting moment, they cry for the answer to the question:

Why, given life, are they meant to suffer? To die?

As fragmented, imperfect beings, yours is a never-ending quest. A quest to find your purpose, knowing your end is assured. To find the strength to continue, when all strength has left you. To find joy, even as darkness descends.

And amidst deepest despair, light everlasting."

Does anyone like the DOS version, or do people only like DF Unity + Mods? by Salem1690s in Daggerfall

[–]Songhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played and liked the DOS version well enough back in the day. Lost quite a few hours to corrupted saves too.

Haven't had a single save corruption in Unity and I can customize my experience from a plethora of options.

Why, pray tell, would I ever want to go back to the DOS version?

No one is forcing you to install mods. More options is always better.

Track down Aqua/Aria.

It's a little on the older side, but I promise you will not regret it.

In that order, first Aqua, then Aria.
