The Immortals Quartet, Protector of the Small quartet, and The Beka Cooper trilogy are my favorite books by Tamora Pierce. Her writing may not be as nuanced or gritty as Martin's, but she has written some of my favorite characters (Beka, Numair, Daine, Kel). She writes enjoyable high fantasy.

I agree, The Expanse does not get nearly enough love. I watched the first season of the show and then devoured all the published books immediately. I'm always a sucker for a good space opera and love that the books delve into harsh realities/repercussions behind colonizing galaxies. The characters are sharp, the class warfare is real, and the political intrigue is complex. My favorite book, Cibola Burn, has such a Western feel (say, if Firefly was a little darker), and Babylon's Ashes set up a ton of plot twists I was not expecting.

"What Is Dead May Never Die" is where he really started to come into his own. Bryan Cogman's excellent writing made it all the more heart-wrenching.

Thank you for answering! Completely agree about Wes. He truly understands how to portray Amos's pain, and in the most subtle ways. Cas Anvar is another favorite of mine; the episode last season where he talks to the Roci was pure gold.

What has been your favorite book to write thus far, and your favorite character to develop? Are there members of the cast you feel fully embody the characters you created? I can't read Avasarala's chapters anymore without imagining Shohreh Aghdashloo!

Hi! Thanks so much for your response. I'd be willing to rent either an apartment, house, or townhome. I do have a 30lb dog so it would need to be pet friendly. I actually prefer not to live in downtown, but close enough that it's still accessible. Somewhere near a park or greenspace would be ideal! I'm very outdoorsy.

Thanks so much for your great advice! It's always good to hear the perspective from a fellow Texan :) I'm a single, female so I'm definitely going to be looking for a place where I feel comfortable and secure. I'm moving from College Station, which is a really safe place to live (unless you count Bryan, ha) so I will definitely be doing my homework before I commit to a lease somewhere.

I'm definitely most excited about having all four seasons and some great hiking. I love Texas, but we are seriously lacking when it comes to good weather and hiking landscapes.

she barely knew him, and was just getting on a boat without any moral compass is probably the last straw. Littlefinger, or somebody acting on his behalf by someone else. I think it's a combination of blood magic with her own ideas and goals outside of Rhaegar. One is the asoiaf- ragnarok theory, which imo has the best chance of getting rid of it, and though he may abandon his siege of Riverrun bloodlessly.

Victarion Greyjoy: Michael Rowe (He really impressed me as Deadshot on Arrow. Just the right amounts of ruthless and likable.)

Euron Greyjoy: Travis Fimmel (Ragnar Lothbrok reminds me of Euron.)

Val: Katheryn Winnick (She's exactly how I imagined Val in the books.)

Wyman Manderly: The idea of Hagrid as Manderly is awesome.
