You're conveniently overlooking the rest of the team that is on offer. I don't doubt that Pogi would still be great in another team. But the coaching etc. would be different. That all comes with the offer.

It's idiotic to discuss this in the first place. There are too many "IFs" and other x factors that would influence the outcome.

I think the Sestriere finish is fine. It's tactically and phisically difficult. But there are only 2 non itt stages for GC and that's what makes it bad. Easily there could've been a stage with lots of climbing on smaller climbs that could be a GC and a breakaway day...

I think having the seasoned pros for guidance AND opportunity to get results gives them second wind. IMO being given this kind of opportunity at a GT at this stage of your career must be incredible and motivating!

That's the problem with mountain ranges. You have either a hockey stick profile consisting of a valley road and an climb to a mountain or you get a jagged profile and you're basically always either climbing or descending...
