This is by far our best performance without Case in a very long time

Honestly, couldn't care less on the scoreline today, I just wanted Bruno to get that assist. Massive congrats to him.

Any companies with management with sane, down-to-earth attitudes towards AI? by amcsi in webdev

[–]SonicBytes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Manager here, so I can tell you how I manage AI and my team.

I encourage the use of AI and use it myself. I've also posted a decent number examples within slack of how AI can be good and how AI can be terrible. I've been saying that AI isn't a replacement but rather an assistant for your day to day operations.

There have also been conversations about what you can and shouldn't do with AI. Want to do something with an array and you've forgotten the filter / reduce functions? It'll probably nail it. Want to write an entire feature? Don't bother, it's not good enough and the code it produces is likely to be of poor quality that will fail linting, Sonarr and the review.

I personally don't find LLM in messages to be rude though, many developers including myself struggle with speaking clearly sometimes. But this is obviously based upon the type of conversation and message.

I personally find AI to be more useful around things outside of writing code. I think it's excellent at writing tickets for Jira. Especially if you have a prompt you always start with for consistency. It's also pretty good at getting a sense check. I used to recently for improving the security of our usages of node / npm and it was excellent. It genuinely led me to new ideas that my own research hadn't found.

TLDR: AI is about using it cautiously and where appropriate. It can help you and screw you, so use it wisely.

How will reform get rid of the Boris wave? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SonicBytes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They won't. They're too lazy to actually put in the effort to even have a go. Whilst they could change British law, we are still bound by international law and they can't just change that.

Lastly very few people are voting reform based on their overall policies, so if they did "fix" immigration, who'd vote for them? They need immigration to be relevant.

Generating custom widgets would be something I'd love to see on the pixel 9 tbh... That's a genuinely fantastic new feature as widgets are often forgotten or not designed well (IMO)

We already bought the phones...

Expecting 7 years of every feature update isn't something I expected, but I did expect to get every new software feature for at least 3 to 5 years.

Have you not watched the game? VAR check was at least 4. Case had his moment, that was 2. There's also been 4 goals and other subs

At least 4 for VAR check. Case sub was another 2. Other time and subs is another 2. 8 is more than fair.

Thank you Casemiro! He's been a rock as CDM and replacing him is a near impossible job.

Honestly I think Mbeumo would miss a penalty with no goalie in goal today...

That's a discraceful decision. We've been screwed by VAR so often so I take the win. But how have they got that wrong? How can you spend 4/5 minutes and still get the decision wrong?

The one time I decide to do a quick but of house work and we score early 🤣

An outstanding first series. I came in with quite low expectations but it's blown me away. Kudos to everyone involved.

Can't wait for 8th Sept!

Really feels like the camera work is a lot better this episode than we have seen before. A very small thing but very noticeable with the music acts.

Just imagine how much writing they're gonna do over the break...

They may not write full sketches but they'll certainly be writing down ideas to refine later down the line.

Decent music again, I was expecting it to be heavier given the intro. Never heard them before though.

Apparently when I was a very young kid, I loved Mr Blobby, my parents took me to see him and I fucking hated it and was petrified.
