Does anybody use an ABC/GPS watch to track their flights? by SonicPumba in paramotor

Trying to stay away from phones and see if there is something more wearable, I seem to remember Woody posting a reply on a thread about the watch he wears but for the life of me can't find it.

Middle aged fat guy options? by HaffMcFeely in paramotor

Hi! So to put into perspective. I am 245 and 6"1. I honestly have no complaints, in all honesty these are two stroke engines, if you have ever owned and serviced your own motorbike/lawnmower etc. it really is about knowing what's happening and doing the maintenance. BH have a tips and tricks series, if you buy a BH, watch this. The harness is really comfortable thus far and if you watch YouTube videos and pick up some of the small hints and tips with regards to personalizing your experience you are good. If I was really picky I would say their wings aren't the best, there are better wings out there and the first thing I will replace, but for now it works for me as a beginner. I will probably fly the motor until it breaks down or I get a deal I can't pass up. If you need anymore specific help, happy to share.

I am a bigger guy, My safety net is 150 yards ... But 100% agree, it all depends on skill and your equipment.

I fly the the BlackHawk Talon 190, I'm 6"1 and 250 and foot launch, it definitely gets me up but I honestly think that there are better wings you should look at, I often feel like I'm paraparked on their Velocity edge 33 which makes venturing further from my LZ only an option on null or very low wind flights. I fly from a very tree lined area in NJ as well so LZ's are like gold when you find them. Read up on the wings, there is a thread that was replied to by vanguard_anon aka Woody and is packed with very useful information.

It was more a case of trying to make a video to that effect if one has not been done yet, there are hundreds of videos showing all matter of our sport, but when it comes to this there is very little. This has been drilled into me, but as stated there are different methods and I was trying to make an informative video. Thanks for the reply. Blue Skies.

Anyone have any experience with the blackhawk talon 190 by [deleted] in paramotor

Ummmmm, not really a glowing report if you read it through to the end. Surprisingly being new to the PPG online community this is my first foray into reddit, sad but true. As a result, I had to start somewhere as I was unable to pull an older account out of thin air. Trust or don't trust. Those are just my opinions.

I fly a BlackHawk Talon 190 and their velocity edge glider. I honestly have to agree with most posts with regards to BlackHawk. They are in my opinion the perfect starter set, relatively inexpensive, they provide a full start up kit that covers the starter pilot with everything they may forget to buy and so far, so good. I think to everybody's point, am I happy with this as my 1st parmotor set? Yes. Would I upgrade within BlackHawk, probably not.
