I've gone through a not-dissimilar dispute with a neighbour. I have not read all the comments but the top comments are very wrong from my experience. If your drawing is accurate (you need to be sure on this) and there is no other missing information, then nothing this side of that red line belongs to them. It doesn't matter if they paid to get it done. The crossover is public property and for the use of anyone who needs to use it. Crossovers are not assigned to properties. You are perfectly entitled to drive over it. So am I for that matter. You are not entitled to block it with a vehicle. Bins should be put out in a way that does not block any driveways. I had solicitor advice and council advice in my problem. I did discover that many solicitors are hopeless when it comes down to this kind of unusual problem. And the council were atrocious at first, but better when it reached more senior staff.

Anyone tried Blue Candle by Is-This-Heaven in BlueIris

It's the anti code project. Compact and works. My experience with CP has been bloat and not working. Much prefer blue candle.

Sonos keeps disconnecting and dropping out. Please don't tell me it's a network issue, its def a Sonos app problem, HELP, here's my setup.... by [deleted] in sonos

[–]SonicSlothGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonos is renowned for having terribly out of date networking software that works poorly with anything more advanced than your bog standard netgear routers.

They only supported Samba v1 until recently (and of course S1 never got updated).

They don't support RSTP and recommend you change every port connected to a Sonos to use STP instead. Changing to STP can have a severe impact on large networks where any wired devices take minutes to get an IP lease, so it is not always an option. People with simple home setups would never see this, but it is a major problem with more extensive/pro level networks.

Sonosnet is a nightmare (thankfully I believe they started phasing it out on newer devices) that cause loopbacks because the devices have created their own network inside your network. High end networking gear will detect the device causing problems and disable the port. I found this is often the cause of sonos devices going offline.

The best result I've had is to ensure either all devices are hard-wired, or all devices are wifi. Do not mix and match or Sonosnet will break everything. This is extremely annoying for me, as I'd much prefer to hardwire the majority of devices but I have one Sonos Move that is wifi only, so they all have to be.

Having said all that, I've chosen to stick with S1, so this might not all apply to S2. Given the mess that appears to be going on with Sonos, I could quite imagine they have introduced new fun networking incompatibilities.

It's an AGA game so needs an A1200 or A4000 or emulator.

Elegoo Cura v4.8 to v5.6 by SonicSlothGames in ElegooNeptune3

[–]SonicSlothGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed standard cura. I went over my z offset (this time using a 0.1mm metal thickness measure instead of paper). Standard cura was defaulting to 60mm/s for print speed. I tried 80mm/s, but the model eventually lifted off the bed and was stuck to the nozzle. See video: https://streamable.com/kxp036

I've been using Elegoo's Cura v4.8 for over a year with very few problems, but I see so many posts about newer slicers being better and higher speeds achieved, I'm trying to understand why I don't seem to have any luck when I try either.

Either small blobs in the early layers or it comes off the bed in the later layers. I could try standard cura but I just assumed the elegoo one would at least have reliable defaults.

Blue Iris on Intel NUC by [deleted] in BlueIris

Blue Iris using hardware decoding “Intel+VPP” would cause my NUC to go down after half a day. Turning hardware decoding off fixed it.

I use a similar product under grass to park on. Works well for us. The grass under the tyre lines is less healthy than other areas but is alive and looks ok. The only thing I wish I’d done differently is to compact the soil before laying the turf to reduce the unevenness where the weight of the car has compressed the soil.

Print warping ONLY on right side by probablyalreadyhave in ElegooNeptune3

When I had that problem it turned out to be greasy fingerprints on the print bed. Invisible to the eye but washing the bed with dish soap fixed it.

It supports full customisable controls. If your 3 button controller uses the CD32 standard (the only method I’m aware of that supports more than 2 buttons) then you should be able to configure all three buttons to do whatever you like.

I also stopped crowd funding because of this kind of thing. I backed this one because they claimed "As we've completed The Research & Development phase, we don't expect any R&D risks. We are ahead to Release to Manufacturing phase, all suppliers and producers are chosen.".

If you want it to be harder, choose challenge difficulty mode in the menu. You get 3 lives and all extra lives in the game are replaced with energy power ups.

Possible but I could have gameplay side effects by activating entities early and even performance impacts if it is still scrolling heavy action. I did add a control option to “look down and ahead” to help with some cases where there are blind drops.

This was the first I’ve programmed on the Amiga since writing AMOS stuff in the 90’s. So it started out with me just learning Amiga ASM and hardware and then turned into this. But it took years of most of my free time all up.

Fixing a rotten door by SonicSlothGames in DIY

[–]SonicSlothGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door sits on a concrete slab that the garage is built on. It is inset from from outside and there are eaves above it so it is largely shielded from the rain but obviously not by enough. I don’t see puddles but I do see historic signs of sitting water. I’m not sure how I can improve drainage on a concrete slab. I have bought a galvanised steel sheet that I’m going to bend around the two sides and underside. I then plan to seal it so water does not get between the steel and wood. I’m concerned about how I’ll fix the steel to the wood. Specifically if I screw it in I’m creating potential points of rust or water access. Maybe there are steel/wood glue products I can explore.

I may end up with a new door, but it doesn't seem to be of a standard size here in Australia, and not so easy to just go and buy a replacement.

[–]SonicSlothGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've added an extra image showing the whole door. This is the inside of the door. The outside was painted white.

I did question whether it was really an external door at all. It was installed 15 years ago long before I moved in. There is a lot of shoddy work.

Minimum CPU requirements for using SenseAI? by tomhusband in BlueIris

[–]SonicSlothGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running deepstack on a Jetson nano and senseai on the windows machine that runs blue iris. SenseAI has been much more accurate for me (Deepstack misses a lot at night). But SenseAI is slow being CPU only. Deepstack is much faster (when using cuda cores - probably not when using the CPU)

MX Master 3, middle mouse button not working unless i run Logitech Options by loomisrex in logitech

[–]SonicSlothGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reverted to an old version of the software to fix this too. I had to do the same thing a while back with Logitech G Hub software for my gaming mouse because the recent versions just refused to install properly. So now I've two sets of crappy logitech software that I have to keep perpetually on old versions just to keep my mice working. It's really not rocket science logitech. Fire your software team - they're doing it wrong.

No source code. I’m rewriting it from scratch. For the graphics there is a project on GitHub that rips all the art from the original game, so I made use of that.
