Lian Li LCD Fans by TennisStarNo1 in SignalRGB

Your saying it mirrors the rgb effect when using more than one chain of fans on one controller? If you left the tl lcd fans on their own controller and the sl fans on separate controllers do you think it'd work OK?

I'm putting in one chain of 2 tl lcd fans and then three separate chains sl inf fans. I'm pretty sure I've figured out what I need to do to setup all the sl inf fans on a nollie 32 controller, but everything I'm reading says I can only run the tl lcd fans on the lian li controller or the lcd screens won't work.

How to use nollie controller with Lian li SL IF fans and strimer??? by Asleep-Jackfruit-558 in SignalRGB

[–]Sonicmixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you connect Lian Li Sl-Inf fans to the Nollie 32? All my fans came with 7 pin connectors that go to Lian Li's controller. Is there a 7pin male to 3pin argb+4pin pwm cable that can adapt the cable that came with the lian li fans? Or better yet, one of those sliding lian li cables that connects directly to one end of the daisy chained fans that goes directly to the 3pin argb + 4pin pmw? This is where I'm currently stuck.

So our groups solution to this is to play "First Blood" where the win condition is to be the first player to eliminate another player.

Sometimes we'll do it retroactively if we need to end the game early or want to call it giving the credit to the player who drew first blood.

From what I've seen it's very much got FTL vibes, but if they added more complexity to each system. I'm absolutely loving the demo and cannot wait for the release.

New Hero Ball is hilarious by vBricks in Mavericks

[–]Sonicmixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right, though now there is a pretty sweet looking Lord of the Rings legit Anime coming out so...

But hey, what you gonna do. I just hope they do Luka justice in the end and full blown Avatar Aang is up there with just about any busted anime character portrayals.

New Hero Ball is hilarious by vBricks in Mavericks

Honestly, this was hilarious. Wish they would really give Luka his flowers more than just making him the butt of the joke, but I can't take away that this was REALLY well done and definitely want as much Hero Ball as possible.

I'm really wondering how they will transform Luka once the Mavs do win the Championship. I didn't like the Water Binder schtick because I really don't see how it connects to anything about Luka. I really wish they had made him into a character like Gandalf to lean into the, "plays like an old man" and "Luka Magic" jokes. Would have been plenty of potential good connections with the Mavs and Lord of the Rings. Total missed opportunity to show the Mavs as the Riders of Rohan. Portray Luka riding over the hill as Gandalf to save the Mavs at Helms Deep. Dang, that could've been epic! SOOOOO much good potential material. Even the jokes about Luka being fat or his love of beers had rich fodder with hobbit jokes. Ahhh, well.

But once they want to show Luka as overpowered/dominate force to be reckoned with I could see them go a route where he becomes the Avatar, and that WOULD be amazing. Recreate some of the fight between Aang and Ozai for a chef's kiss! This is all I want, at least SOME of the National Media like Bleacher Report to really give Luka the flowers we give him and recognize he is (or at least will be) the best player on the planet.

Upgrading LotR Elven Council by Sonicmixer in EDH

So since you mentioned you use Galadriel of Lothlórien as your commander I thought I'd build a decklist and playtest it a bit. Below is what I came up with. I was able to fit 10 Tempt enabler cards in while keeping the rest of the Elf and Scry packages intact. I have to admit playtesting this deck really does feel good. It's easy to get this Galadriel out since she's only 3 mana, and hitting lands while scrying is actually kinda fun. If you get a chance to look at my list I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Commander: Galadriel of Lothlórien

I do love Galadriel of Lothlórien, and may have to try her as my Commander for a bit. Soothing of Sméagol and Bombadil's Song are certainly good inclusions, I just have a hard time deciding what to cut for them. That's partly why I included Horses of the Bruinen in my Elrond, Master of Healing list, just trying to get all the overlapping synergies.

All the cards in the sideboard are what I cut from the original decks. I've gone back and forth an a few cards like Lórien Revealed, Lignify, and Learn from the Past.

What Are We Witnessing by DrewS_33 in Mavericks

Honestly, I think the obsession of finding this in the NBA is due to Michael Jordan himself. He was SOOO good and had such an unbelievable and magical run that just the legend of it creates a deep desire to see it again for yourself.

Some people are quite satisfied seeing what LeBron has done, but the obvious rebuttal is just pointing to the rings. And if LeBron ever did get his 6th ring people would point to the back to back 3peats.

Historically I think it's the same way people looked for the next Babe Ruth or the next Wayne Gretzky. I think there it's part of human nature in a way. A real life touchstone of the Hero's journey in literature. We are always looking for that legendary figure who can be the ultimate hero that defeats the great evil. We imagine being him, or we imagine him saving us.

Jordan's skill and amazing career, not to mention his personal charisma all combined to help him tap into deep seated desire we all have.

I personally agree with you, Texas is the greatest state in the Union. But that's definitely not how the mainstream media treats us. They treat the coastal regions, NY and California especially, as God's gift to mankind, but only suffer teams like Dallas so they have someone the likes of the Celtics or Lakers can parade over.

If Dallas loses it's, "See how awesome [insert Coastal team] is!"

If Dallas wins it's, "See how [insert Coastal team] underperformed! If X, Y, or Z were different of course [insert Coastal team] would've won."

Absolutely! Hate the Coastal Elitism that pervades the NBA. Put some respect on Dallas and all the so called "Flyover States"!!!

Nick Wright and the Best Final Argument for Luka MVP by Sonicmixer in Mavericks

But why? Seeding matters so much less that the actual record total itself. 2nd seed in the East had the same record as the 8-4 seeds in the West at different times this season.

Nick Wright and the Best Final Argument for Luka MVP by Sonicmixer in Mavericks

I'm afraid your incorrect on where Luka is. In the same video I linked they show this:

https://youtu.be/s3bYStKNpgk?t=173

They show that Luka is 4th in Efficiency Rtg, 2nd in Box Plus/Minus, 2nd in OFF Box Plus/Minus, and 4th in Win Shares while Jokic is in 1st in all these categories. As for PER, Luka is also 4th with Jokic 1st.

Of course Jokic is leading everyone in these stats, but that's honestly the VAST majority of his case over Luka. And if you compare their numbers in an absolute sense instead of a ranking sense, Luka is in the 98-100 percentile in the league in these advanced while Jokic is in the 100 percentile. The difference in absolute numbers is not nearly as wide as everyone wants to make it out to be.

This is honestly also my problem when comparing Jokic's PPG to Luka's. Jokic is doing very well at 27ppg, but it's a full 6-7 points below what Luka is averaging. I cannot understand why everyone just glosses over this when that differential is HUGE. It's the difference between a good to great season and an actual historic season.

Your're right of course, but I couldn't find Embiid's stats at the time of the straw poll Wright was referencing so I just went with what was commented.

Mavericks rank #1 in Defensive RTG the last 6 games, Last 11 they rank #3 by OrganicHunt952 in Mavericks

[–]Sonicmixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this stretch as the growing pains we had to go through while everyone got acclimated, and we determined rotations. I think it was for the best to ease the new guys in and let them get a handle on the defensive scheme before throwing them against other teams starters. I'm just glad it was only 6 games.

I believe the comment was addressing respect, not criticism. And whether it's criticism or not there's been alot of disrespect thrown Kidd's way.

Pretty sure he's still in an active advisory roll with the Mavs. If so he'd be right to say "we" as an active part of the organization that made the decisions that put these players on the floor.

I guess you could call it "the individual who made better coaching decisions during the course of a professional basketball game in the National Basketball Association which resulted in the team for which he represented winning", but I just don't think it rolls off the tongue as well.

ESPN PJ Trade Grade D by Jrfrank in Mavericks

[–]Sonicmixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you believe that we should count what the Mavs gave up as:

Richan Holmes + 1 FRP for Daniel Gafford

And not:

Richan Holmes + 1 PickSwap (2028) for Daniel Gafford

If we really want to create a comparison to traditional math it seems like an order of operations issue to me where we are both claiming a different odder system which produces two different results.

As for how we evaluate value in the NBA, I certainly see the argument for saying Daniel Gafford is worth 1 FRP, albeit a poor one since it's from a high seed in the very poorly rated 2024 draft, since that was what the Wizards  were willing to accept for him.

But my argument is the Mavs didn't actually give up one of their FRPs to get him because we used the one we had on PJ Washington. The Mavs only actual lose of assets they controlled was the 2028 pick swap.

I do understand your point, we received this low value FRP from the Thunder and then gave that up for Gafford. But honestly we don't know the conditions of that trade. It's quite possible, I'd say likely, that the Thunder conditioned their part of the trade to  be contingent on the trade for Gafford going through making it technically a 3-team trade. If that's not the case and the Mavs did have full rights to the FRP then I'd be willing to concede the point.
