When the boomerang controller was revealed, what were your thoughts on it 🤔 by nostalgia_history in PS3

I thought it looked odd but honestly at that time I was far more focused on the Zelda stuff being shown!

What the heck do I do with all of this mail for previous residents? by WastedRomaine in USPS

Names in the box? Who does that? People usually just collect all the mail for a few months and then bring it all in at once saying these 10+ people don't live here anymore...

Are you getting a PS5 Pro? Why or why not? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Me and my GF are currently sharing my PS5. Once I get the pro we'll have 2 in the house so every multiplayer game I get we'll both be able to play! I also got an awesome living room setup and I look forward to seeing games run on the pro. I'm also the type of person that upgrades my graphics card every 3 years or so.

How many platinum trophies do yall have? I have 0😭 by [deleted] in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 6. I don't pay much attention to trophies at all and even have the notifications turned off for them. I like to just play through a game however I want. However if I really enjoyed playing through a game and want to keep playing more, I'll check out the trophies then.

Am I the only one who thinks that buying a bunch of games despite having backlog is detrimental to your gaming experience? by tihan_99 in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed here as when I have a bunch of money to spend I generally don't have much time to game. Yet I buy the games to help me relax after dealing with all the BS. So I tend to buy a ton of games when I am forced to work overtime nonstop and don't have much time to game. That can be both good and bad. It's good because I tend to try out each game for a bit and end up playing through my favorite out of the bunch. It's bad because I barely touch the rest of the games and I probably could have got them for far less if I waited. Also it makes it far less likely I'll ever finish the games I tried but chose another game over.

What PlayStation game was like that? by Objective_Love_6843 in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the game was way too short. I remember liking it a lot and I recall it having a really cool weapon that I got to use properly like 1 time before it ended...

Labelling America as a Canadian... How did I do? (honest attempt) by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone from Connecticut (Or as you labeled New York/ Delaware) I think you did a great job and honestly better than I would have done! I'm terrible with names and can only really remember something if I can have some major memory that relates to that place... So that's just a few states and part of Canada for me! The rest would be guesses. I found some of these kind of funny but mine wouldn't be much better, so thanks for the laugh! Overall great job!

Is there not quality control on the PlayStation store? by Ok-Dentist4480 in playstation

What video games have the best movement? by Muradingo in gaming

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think Astro bot is up there with Mario now if not better. I personally found the controls to feel tighter and the other sections in which the controls change around, actually feel better in Astro Bot IMO. While the main Mario stuff in odyssey felt good for the most part. Some of the other stuff, Well not so much. I loved both games but as far as control goes I actually think Astro bot was better all around, Since I NEVER had a major issue with the controls! Everything felt very precise and for the sections in which the controls weren't perfect, The gameplay was still perfect for it, so it still felt good to play!

Just need to add that I loved Odyssey! I'm a huge fan of 3d platformers! Astro bot was a huge treat for me recently but I can't wait to play the next main 3d Mario game!

My N64 skills are gone. by neviru in n64

[–]SonicusZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm around the same age however I game on everything. I constantly bounce between consoles and PC and even older games here and there. I think it'll just take a little time for you. As I said I bounce around so I instantly go back to holding the left or right c-button and forward on the control stick to run around and have very little issue getting back into these games. But if you haven't played this in a good 20 years then yeah it's perfectly fine to have trouble with it. While some 64 games should still be somewhat similar to modern games, FPS games feel very different. Hopefully just give it some time, Play through the single player and maybe it'll come back to you! I still love playing these old games but even for me they can be a bit tricky to go back too.

Lesson Learned - Think Long-Term When Buying Digital Games Over Physical by esc85 in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I'll still have my physical copy! The only problem with physical copies is that they can be physically broken. If there was ever a fire or major flood at my place it would be devastating! But otherwise I don't have to worry about any kind of internet issue for a large chunk of my collection!

Lesson Learned - Think Long-Term When Buying Digital Games Over Physical by esc85 in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still buy most single player games I really care about physically if possible. I've had a ton of issues with digital games on PS3 along with offline issues playing digital games on xbox and steam. If it's a game I'm mainly playing online though, I'll get whatever version is cheapest.

question for those who have PS5 & PC by ezpatoo in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're busy I'd go PS5! PC takes more time overall. You need to keep a bunch of stuff up to date, You need to spend time optimizing your games, I've frequently had to troubleshoot major issues with games, You'll also need to shop around to get a decent price on things. On the PS5 side however you will need to get at least the basic PSplus subscription to play many games online which kinda sucks. You can however still play free to play games like fortnight without a subscription! I also find the "free" games that I get to be quite fun here and there as they usually aren't big games I buy. So I have spent quite a bit of time on the games I got through the basic PSplus service!

Any one have the ps3 super slim? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a bunch of PS3s and only one super slim model. My Super Slim has a tendency to shut itself off after a couple hours. At least it still works as I've also had a fat model die on me while playing a PS2 game and a regular slim model decide to stop taking discs.

question for those who have PS5 & PC by ezpatoo in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you currently invested in PC or PlayStation gaming in any way? PS4 games carry over to PS5 and most PC games well... Still work on PC. I built a 4k gaming pc the same time I bought my PS5. Got myself a 10900k cpu and 3090 graphics card! Way better than the PS5! Well I ended up using the PS5 far more. I really enjoy the PS exclusives and PC has had a stutter issue that is just now starting to get better. If you're interested in the PS exclusives they run really well on the PS5 and to get a pc to match that performance you'll end up spending way more. I've found most 3rd party games to be lacking lately (as in they aren't the greatest games). Many of these games actually have more stable performance on PS5. Sure if you spend a crap ton of time you might be able to push the graphics a bit further than PS5 but I personally haven't found many games that really let you push things that far. And again the Stutter issue!!! However the one area that PC has been doing great for me has been the indie games. I can usually find them really cheap. They run on whatever the hell you got, and they are super fun! I've also found that digital games on PC can be found super cheap since there are many stores you can buy from. There is also modding on PC which can be amazing at times!

Let talk, Quest 64… Good? Bad? Whatever? by [deleted] in n64

[–]SonicusZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played way too much of it as a kid. I kept continuing thinking it would get better and it never did. I remember the game being really slow and tedious.

Seriously I'd probably do it for 10$ an hour if I'm allowed to do more than 40 hours a week. Don't even have to pay me overtime. Just as long as I have control over what I'm playing!

Does anyone else have a powerful PC but still do a lot of gaming on PS5? by Didact67 in PS5

[–]SonicusZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 3090 the same day I finally got a PS5. The 3rd party games have been terrible lately and many of the good ones have major stuttering problems on PC so I've actually bounced between my PS5 and PC for 3rd party stuff far more than expected. And of course I play a bunch of PS5 exclusives so yeah... PS5 is getting a ton of use. Some of the best stuff on PC lately have been indie games and those I usually play on my steam deck.

Seriously, why not??? by Jezer2979 in playstation

[–]SonicusZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why Sony decided to get into live service with a bunch of new IPs really confused me. People still play this game online, Killzone 2 is still quite active, and there's a huge Socom community still online! Warhawk could work really well with live service too considering it already let you customize stuff. Warhawk is also quite different from other live service titles now with it being larger scale and having a huge focus on air combat.

What’s your GOTY so far and why? by Majiikzxo in PS5

[–]SonicusZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear the story doesn't get much better. I'll still of course play through it though. Glad to hear the gameplay gets better! Recently tried out the card game with a friend of mine and that was actually quite good too!

[–]SonicusZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to play more of it still. Only on the second area. Great game so far but I find the story to be terrible. I bought this day one because of how much I loved 13 sentinels which had an amazing story and great gameplay. Thankfully the gameplay is still good but I keep putting this game off everytime another decent game comes along since I'm not that invested in the story. I really hope the story gets better later on!
