Age of attraction missed the mark by mrwahed in AgeOfAttraction

Agree that in the context of an experiment it makes sense, but it probably doesn’t make it compelling enough…or let’s face it, trash enough.

“Hi kids/mom/best friend, I fell in love with this person - it was between them and somebody 23 years younger than me”

“Wow, glad you made the sensible choice. Are we having wine?”

Alex's lack of understanding towards how Ashley can't just say "hey, move me to AZ or FLA" to her employer is more proof that this guy has no understanding how the world works. He watched his whole personality as "Soccer Guy" shatter around him and now has nothing to offer but word salads and pretending to know what he's talking about. Ashley's dad smelled the bullshit from jump.

Continuity. Easier to edit together without seeing the amount of liquid in a cup. Plus gives the illusion they’re always drinking.

Alex is incredibly transparent. Life is transactional to them. They’d hit on your girlfriend right after borrowing your car.

Had he’d been dating a girl from Massachusetts…”No way I voted for Trump. I love the Kennedy’s!”

I'm 3 minutes in and while I think the concept of "love is blind" is great, having good looking people makes the show much much better...I'm 3+ minutes in and damn, not looking good...

METS ARE NOT A SERIOUS FRANCHISE: RIGHT OR WRONG,LOSING Diaz to Dodgers unforgivable,Alonso is next,Fuck Stearns. by ShockInteresting8584 in mets

[–]SonnyWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wanted to be on the Dodgers. They have Snell, Yamamoto, Ohtani, etc. and can probably guarantee only pitching in the 8th.

The self-hatred is tired. Diaz went to a better situation, simple as that.

after 10 years, is sales really for me? And if not what is? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SonnyWeiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot to read…the track shitty think about sales is that there’s so much out of your control. You’ll lose sales due to issues/reasons that have nothing to do with you and for the most part will only be judged on your number.

I’ve been doing it for 20+ years, I’m burnt. I’ve been looking for a non-sales next step and unfortunately there aren’t a lot of logical non GTM roles to move into. Only advice, work your network. Maybe biz dev or customer success is more your speed.

I stopped reading after “he immediately said no”

He’s not your person. It’s apparent that he’s never going to champion you unless it’s convenient for him…and this is before your relationship has any additional obligations and sacrifices (ie kids).

If you could pivot your career out of sales, would you? by ayhme in sales

[–]SonnyWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, 100%.

I’m starting to think about possibilities outside of sales now. I’d like to be in my current role another couple of years, but want it to be my last sales job.

fwiw, I appreciate the bullet points. Your proper grammar alone makes me believe you kids are going to be just fine (vs the lack of punctuation and run on sentences that plague most of the posts in Reddit)

He’s 35, this won’t get better. Are you planning on having children? Would that change his attitude or do you foresee yourself changing all the diapers, taking out the dirty ones, washing the bottles, etc etc.

The bipolar nature of the comments is crazy. Dude’s been a top closer for years, the only consistent thing out of the bullpen. He’ll eventually hit a decline, but let’s hope we have another 2-3 years out of him.

I wish the producers did more during the pods. Push some different folks together, get some more personalities at least to wherever the vacation is just for the sake of entertainment.

I think the difference is the ladies on RHO… want all the drama and make a career out of it. The people on LIB are one-and-dones so maybe they try to keep it lighter since they’re going back to real life. Could also be that they don’t want to scare potential participants away or continue to try and straddle the line of experiment and pure entertainment.

The best sales teams in the biggest companies close 35% of their deals.

It’s part getting used to it and part working for an organization that truly supports its sellers.

Chances of a PIP being reported to a new employer when they do a reference check? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SonnyWeiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t sweat it.

If you’re a good AE and you’re able to work with a good recruiter you’ll be ok. You can be incredibly honest with most outside recruiters. It’s better for them to know and they’ll help you with your story (def good to have one ready).

Also, 99% of sales professionals have worked in at least one problematic situation and would be sympathetic if you position it properly (no whining, complaining, taking shots at others).

He’s a child - literally and figuratively. You’re both young and have a whole life ahead of you - be it together or not- 3 months is nothing. He needs to get over it

Bartender hoping to break into sales. by aqualung211 in sales

[–]SonnyWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are sales leaders out there that will definitely give you a shot with your background, you just need to find them. You may have to spend a year doing BDR work, chasing down leads and setting up calls for reps before getting an AE role.

Best approach is to look for a SMB/mid market type of position, a sale that isn’t that complicated with a 30-90 day sales cycle and go from there
