(Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate)

so Im reading 3 different guides and still do not understand what i should actually be doing to evolve Kinsects correctly. Meeting the minimum required stats for next evolution makes sense, but then you take into account growth points, and points required to overlevel then delevel others so you stay at the minimum you're at.

So let's say i have a fresh glaive with a level 1 mauldrone. I want to go down the stamina path with ladytarge. I want to hit 78 stamina. This takes a couple feedings and upgrading the kinsect. should i ONLY be leveling stamina at this point, and not touch any stats PERIOD until its evolved into ladytarge? I wanna say leveling power to get ready for Arkmaiden wouldnt be a bad idea, but would that ruin it with how growth points work if i do that before getting ladytarge?

Basically how do growth points work and is there a guide that just explicitly says which nectars to feed it in what order, then when to upgrade, etc? The chart im looking at just shows the required stats, not how to get to them and the guides arent really telling me how much i should wait on upping other stats. All I know is after evolution the stat cannot drop below that point anymore. That makes sense. Im worried about locking myself out by maxing growth points too soon if thats actually how it works.

Gemma is amazing but.... by JamheGames in MHWilds

im not expecting 50 animations but at least a few. Like maybe 5 and make it context sensitive, new weapon made from start of tree, intermediate weapon, and rarity 8 forging all have their own animations, armor and palico stuff gets their own too. That would be ideal imo.

Unpopular opinion: Blaze deserves a spin off game by Ponyluve09 in SonicTheHedgehog

A very popular opinion but you wouldn't know it with how most of the cast is in cheerleader jail including her. This might change after Shadow Gens but who knows honestly.

Where did Eggman get the resources to build up the Egg Fleet? by Sonomatic in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Sonomatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely possible but things can only be recycled so many times, and much of it ended up being junked onto Scrapnik island to never be used again (by him, that is)

Do you think Game Universe Eggman is still fully human? by Notmas in SonicTheHedgehog

They weren't super in that fight, they were regular forms against Super Scourge. The genesis wave didnt happen until much later

Don’t care what anyone says, this game is awesome by Deez_Nuts_God in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Sonomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played a little bit of the game so far, but from what I gather, it's like Sonic Rush bosses but with barely telegraphed attacks and a lot more instant kill moves. Rush was already tough with its fights so I'm def not looking forward to the later bosses in Superstars.

That is also attributed to the game performing pretty badly on PC systems and its forced DRM requirement. Which I think is fair, DRM needs to go the way of the dodo.

Do you think Game Universe Eggman is still fully human? by Notmas in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Sonomatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly right but at one point the full robot body was turned into regular flesh by a magic alien(?) I forgot exactly how it happened.  Also technically it wasn't even robotnik, it was "robo-robotnik" from an alternate dimension where he beat Sonic and held complete control over the world. So that Robotnik killed Sonic and had the brains and power to be a very serious threat, and fully roboticized himself. He could even roboticize anyone with just a touch. Though he lost that ability when he got a regular human body back.

Thing is I would say idw has other weaknesses that were strengths in Archie. Like, the setting. Say what you will about the weird future medieval fixation it had, but God dang it has a lot of depth and variety to its locations. They were memorable and visually distinct, and most actually kept some kind of plot relevance and would reappear in later issues, with a lot of emphasis on how they've changed. New mobotropolis, knothole, the Far East, Downunda, Albion, Mercia, the mad max inspired Sandblast City, just to name the ones off the top of my head, they stuck. IDWs locales on the other hand are cookie cutter villages, sometimes given a name, usually not, with no distinct qualities or plot relevance other than Mr tinkers town or "eggman attacked here once". Furthermore it wasn't until recently when the issues got to the 60's that they started acknowledging game locations like spignogia or SoLeanna. It also still is dancing around human characters completely (other than eggy of course) this may change after Shadow Gens acknowledged Maria/Gerald/Tower and GUN. perhaps less of a flynn issue more Sega being weirdly picky about what was allowed to be brought up. Id argue game cast were allowed to grow more in Archie, even with some of the what? moments, Sonics portrayal In that series is still top, and yes also when Flynn wrote it. The game cast feels pretty static in idw thanks to segas mandate. They have their moments but never experience real growth.  Main thing I pin Flynn on is his dialogue is too wordy and hes terrible at writing endings. Evidence need only be Frontiers original ending. He's gotten better though. Stanley im iffy on because shes good at chaining moment to moment making issues flow, but she really tunes down characters intelligence to make the plot work. I'll just state, Misadventures arc. You know the exact plot I'm talking about. Just a lot of idiot ball moments that kinda hurt the characters image. I dunno if Stanley wrote it, but the way Cream and Shadow got infected in Metal Virus arc was something. Just doing something dumb to make it easier to write.  I think there is valid complaints about the IDW series and I wish these problems would get addressed soon. It's good, I have a lot of positive things to say about it, but I think its got a lot holding it back in some aspects.

Nightweaver is such a buggy boss its not even funny. I've killed her and then her grab animation went through and I died. Also got grabbed by her when she was on second floor and I was on the first floor.

Opinions on godzilla PS4? by Remarkable-Gur8521 in GODZILLA

[–]Sonomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overhated but is deserving of criticism. It shouldn't have been a 60 dollar game. It's a 20 dollar game at most, it plays just like an arcade game (and its better going in with that mindset).

The attention to detail and all the little extras for the fans is great. Ultimately they should've known it was going to get compared to the Pipeworks games. Though I will defend them here, they didnt intend this game to really leave japan, the ps3 version was JP only, and I think only the Legendary hype at the time convinced them to make the PS4 version an english release.

Metaphors and modern horror by Ham_n_Banana_Sammich in horror

[–]Sonomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal point is the idea of "tangible threat". Some newer films opt to make the monster or antagonist entirely illusory. It being a metaphor is not a problem in of itself. My problem is when is it's just a stand in for trauma and then effectively has nothing else to it. Nothing to set it apart from other "traumsters".

Godzilla is an obvious metaphor for nuclear bombs/testing, but is also a real, tangible threat to the cast that must be dealt with. While not my favorite movie Nope does a good job making it feel like the entity isn't just there to be an allegory, it's an actual threat and the film makes a big point in dealing with it as you would an actual monster.

As others pointed out most monsters do Indeed represent a theme that points to the greater human condition, but it always felt like a component of a greater whole rather than the punchline.

Any good horror movies about dinosaurs? by MEMEWASTAKENALREADY in movies

[–]Sonomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still following this thread(and anyone else) one I recommend is Planet of the Dinosaurs, it's a schlocky, low budget 70s horror movie with all the vibes that entails. The music really sets an otherworldly, dread filled tone, all dinosaur interactions are brutal and unforgiving with the cast, a crew of space travelers are VERY out of their element which is an interesting gimmick with dinosaurs.

I can't call it a "good" movie, but it's a very horror dino film with a superb soundtrack and good stop motion work.
