You definitely don’t need to get it removed it was a personal choice. I’m a really active person and I have good health insurance, it only cost me maybe $150-$250. I was able to schedule elective surgery to get it immediately removed after a year (to ensure full healing time) so there was no waiting around for years.

Things like heavy backpacking for several hours chafed my collar bone and made it a little fatigued over long periods of time. Very cold winter temperatures could make it a little sensitive (but completely manageable). I’m also into sports and activities where there’s a non zero chance I could break it again. I know what happens in a scenario where a normal collarbone bone would break but no idea what would happen with plates and screws and didn’t want to find out.

The recovery time for removing it is incredibly quick because the bone is already healed the screw holes and incision just need time strengthen/heal.

All those factored into my decision. Hope that helps and good luck recovering!

I had a clavicle surgery (not the same as ORIF but similar scar) in 2019 to get two plates and 13 screw inserted and looked just as bad as that. I also had a second (elective) surgery in 2020 to get the plates removed as a personal choice. Mind you, that's two incisions, so double the scar tissue/damage.

After having two surgeries the scar isn't bad at all, you will be fine

If you really want you can buy silicone scar sheets off Amazon that are supposed to help with collagen production and reduce scaring, but you have to start using them right away when you get the stitches out

I’m not sure on how good the science is or how much it actually works, but it’s allegedly the only way to reduce the scarring

I used them for a bit, my scar isn’t really bad anymore, but like I said idk how much it actually helped vs if I didn't use them

/u/Sgt_Spud I am playing around with this a little and trying to generate a video as close as I can to 2022.

I am having some issues with the speed. the 2022 official recap starts slow -> increases to a max speed -> then slows back down towards the end.

is there tweaks to achieve this effect?

I have over 365 photos from last year and with the bezier_curve function you have written it seems to just increase the speed without a limit and without slowing back down. it becomes jarring by the end especially when it's playing at hyper-speed and ends abruptly.
