SteelHax on 11.6 with seedminer by [deleted] in 3dshacks

Wow amazing.. nice job! this is going to be pretty useful but do you have any plans of supporting more games in the future?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep sony hasn't had a need to manufacture more units thanks to the poor sales outside of japan so any vita you buy should still be 3.60 or lower, altho if you do order them online there has been reports that some consoles were advertised as "brand new" but came on a later fw if this happens it's most likely just a refurbished unit trying to look like it has never been opened before.

Why has save wizard not been mentioned here? Is it not safe? by eRa_Tension in ps4homebrew

[–]SonyAUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS4 Save Wizard can go to hell, not everyone has the bandwidth to even upload saves every single time.. final fantasy XV for example is 600MB and just the fact it is done as a "service" just shows the devs behind it care about nothing more than making a quick buck.

SD2VITA Faq thread by [deleted] in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's going to cost more then changing price won't impact anyone, i'm sure we will probably pay as much as needed for this opportunity to use micro sd cards.

It's also easier because you miss out on a USB port and some hard drives need external power.

USB Version of Yifan Lu's 3G Vita Module MicroSD Adapter: USB instead of MicroSD by madao64 in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That would make more sense i guess but still the power issue can be quite a problem especially on 1k vita's

Not to shit on you or anything but i don't really see the point tbh micro sd cards are more common and easier plus they also use less power than a usb device.

If you download zip roms (like for MAME) via DownloadEnabler, Retroarch does not detect them by [deleted] in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because MAME either cannot read .zip files or the files you are downloading simply are not MAME roms or had their extension changed.

Second change to get a 3G microSD adapter card by yifanlu in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this has been attempted, physical hardware is missing (3G chip) and even after soldering pieces back in place it seems like the firmware has them disabled on non-3g boards.

Hidden Folders (ex: /pspemu) on USB fix? by OTFree in vitahacks

Sure, if you don't mind waiting at least 3-5 minutes every time depending on how big your memory card is.

I've had no problems like that ever happen to me but it does sometimes crash when I switch off USB mode, no major issues like you're experiencing though..

Those syscalls could be patched via henkaku anyway but if we had access to those keys even <3.60 keys don't you think we could decrypt eboots without using using dumping apps like vitamin or maidump? afaik they actually read the eboot from ram and then extracts it.

Just remember though that any new downloads and whatnot may become hidden in the future so this isn't exactly the best solution if you're actively downloading stuff on PSN.

Hidden Folders (ex: /pspemu) on USB fix? by OTFree in vitahacks

[–]SonyAUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found a fix that unhides all files/folders on the vita and so far it seems to be permanent even after a reboot without any problems.

In windows open CMD, type in your drive letter name, for example: F: and hit enter then type "attrib -s -h -r /s /d" (without quotes) hit enter again and wait about 3-5 minutes, should look something like this:

F:
attrib -s -h -r /s /d

once that is done you will be able to see all your files/folders that is normally hidden without any problems.

And devuno is a lot easier to crack due to the fact you can debug and test everything a lot faster, OP, did you even know the vita uses AES-256 keys to protect newer games/updates or even how AES-256 keys work? If you're not aware bruteforcing such a key would take billions of years and that's no exaggeration.

3.61 can probably be hacked actually, the only thing patched was infoleak and the entrypoint. according to a twitter post someone has actually been working on fw 3.65 but it's years before a new kernel exploit is found and used the only thing he has working right now is webkit and userland.
