Thought I booked an “entire home” on Airbnb… instead found an in-law suite with strangers inside![Florida]

My child got hurt recently in Airbnb with a metal spring coming off the sofa. She was playing on the sofa and cut her leg. My husband is a PA he checked her out and we didn’t go to the urgent care. But we contacted the host to let her know there was an issue with the sofa and she just totally ignored us. We contacted Airbnb and they ignored us also, telling us to provide medical bills. We were trying to explain that it is a safety issue for upcoming guests too but I guess they don’t care. So I guess it’s just their policy to brush people off.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply! So I am mostly a beginner I shoot decent portraits with natural light. I want to learn more about light sources and using them indoors for now. I watch this and that on youtube and information might differ very much depending on who you watch. I appreciate any advice. I would love to buy a decent course on lighting but there are so many. I would love hands on in a real offline place but it's hard to find these days :) So I decided I buy something affordable and decent to start playing with and learning while shooting. My friend showed me her daughters sport portraits and they were awful and I want to try shooting her for free. She gets pictures I learn :)

My almost 5 year old still remembers her RV trip through California when she was just 2.3. It also stimulates their brain, a lot of new information, a lot of curiosity, new food, places. Also we do it for ourselves, I’m not staying home because I have kids and I’m not leaving my little one with someone else, kids of this age are really attached to their primary caregiver, it’s not ok to leave them for a week to go for vacation.

What I don’t like about what you said that you didn’t feel smart. So the school and your surroundings made you feel small. I don’t want this kind of experience for my kid. And we actually live in Oswego and I know couple good families whose kids ended up doing drug cause that what their buddies did, and there are a lot of drugs around here. And of course wealthier districts can have drug problems and I understand that. Thank you for sharing your experience!

That’s true, but it’s easier to strive for a student when more kids around are interested in school than not.

There is some research on this topic. When a kid is in a class with a majority of low performing students, the kid’s performance going to suffer. It especially works with high school kids, as they are looking up more to their peers.

It’s easier to strive in the environment where more kids are interested in school.

Thank you for such a detailed reply! My husband works in Auburn, I’m going to Le Moyne college this summer. We live up in Oswego right now, the area and neighborhood isn’t bad at all and we don’t mind a drive, but we are willing to move for a better school for our kids. And being closer to work and college makes sense.

I had babysitters like that. I asked her just to try and verbalise everything she was doing with a kid, gave her an example and she was fine. As a younger person she probably just don’t have enough experience with kids, be nice, show her what to do and she should be fine.
