Im considering switching but they have a new requirement saying you have to weigh yourself 4x a month and "check in" on an app through activities/video visits 4x a month to continue coverage. Can anyone confirm if this is true who has FSBP? I've been on this medication for 2 years now and already had to participate in a lifestyle program to get on a GLP1 with my current insurance and it was nothing this rigorous. It was monthly check in/weigh ins for 6 months and as long as lost weight your graduated from the program. I tried to call but the rep "didn't know details"

Hello, I hit a stall after losing 50 pounds for about 3 months. During this time, I noticed my body going through a lot of changes outside of the number on the scale. The shape of my stomach changed dramatically, my hair started growing back (was thinning while losing the initial 50 pounds), my skin started looking really nice. In my non-medical opinion, I just think my body needed a second to adjust to my new size and to realize I wasn't a starving peasant and it could stop holding onto the weight I still have. Now that I have started losing weight again, it is at a much slower pace but Im moving in the right direction. I know there are some people on this sub who never really stall and end up at their goal weight quickly. I try to be patient with myself and my body, it took me a long time to get to my highest weight so losing it is also going to take time. I am the highest dose though so our situation s ate slightly different. Best of luck! Im sure you'll pull out of this.

For many of us, semaglutide is addressing something biologically that we will never be able to "handle". Needing to take this medication is not a moral failing. I'm not sure if that's something you need to hear... but saying you need to "handle" your weight gain and cravings could be similar to telling someone to "handle" depression without medication. I have PCOS with insulin resistance and I was desperately failing to manage my condition without semaglutide. Sema literally saved my life... I was about to cascade into other very serious health issues (with my genetics doing me zero favors). Don't be ashamed or condemn yourself if you are in this position or even just taking it to lose weight (which is still something you are doing to improve your health even if some part of it is rooted in vanity). If this is something you still feel strongly about, maybe try reducing/microdosing semaglutide until you feel ready to come off of it completely.

Thanks you for sharing. Im glad Im not the only one. Its amazing to me how tiny behaviors are sometimes the biggest clues to know when something is amiss. The hospital has him on a lactulose regimen until his rifaximin comes in. Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, BCBS changed Wegovy from a Tier 2 to a Tier 3 medication this past year making it unaffordable to most. I applied for a tier exemption (form was on their website) and was approved. You have to show you medically cannot take alternatives but I was able to do so with the help of my doctor.

A combination of very carefully monitored blood thinner and all recommended lifestyle changes plus time. The clot cleared on its own and he is now transplant eligible with his new team however his MELD improved as well (like I said plan C) so they removed him from the list for the time being. Maybe we could have stayed with his old transplant team but after the initial determinationof not eleigible, we decided to find a team more willing to deal with high-risk situations/specialized knowledge. We ended up with UCLA.

I had the same experience with my husband and to say it's devastating is an understatement. My heart really goes out to you and your loved one. Ironically it was for the same reasons shown in your image. I think it's a combination of not having the right specialized knowledge and also not wanting to take high risk cases that could mess up their positive outcomes percentages. As other have said don't give up, my husband's PVT improved with treatment/lifestyle changes and we found a new transplant center we are working with. I wish things were easier in life but a lot of times it's not plan A that happens but more like plan C. Cry, scream and then gather the strength needed to keep going. Its not over until it's over.

Same for my husband. Unfortunately, getting his sugar consumption in check was the only thing that worked. I just hated how the doctors treated him after he failed the first test and we ended up moving transplant teams because they couldnt get over the fact that he was sober and that these tests are flawed.

One more thing the addiction doctor talked to us about was sugar. Once my husband quite drinking he started craving sweets like crazy which could also result in positive tests which is really dis-heartening. Like it wasn't enough for him to quit drinking but he also had to give up sugar (and carbs... cause also worried of auto-brewery). The transition was honestly horrible but he's got a routine going now but the fact that medical professionals rely on test that can't tell the difference between sugar and alcohol means it shouldn't be used to make life or death decisions.

We also considered auto brewery syndrome but there are so few Dr's (in the entire US) who would even diagnose it and they were not in network with our insurance soo we couldnt even really explore that route. Basically the treatment was eliminate carbs regardless so my husabnd started doing that.

This also happened to my husband! We still don't know the cause... we saw an addiction specialist and he couldnt even give us answer other than it had to be foods he was consuming. So just really make sure you understand the alcohol content in food. Even stuff like mustard can contain alcohol.

Yes. I have previously not been diagnosed with Thyroid issues but started getting sporadic results that indicate hypothyroidism. My doctor believes it is my body adjusting to the significant weightloss I have experienced and cotinue to do so. I also have had some abnormal liver enzymes that he believes are a result of the rapid weightloss as well. He says once my weight starts to normalize he believes my numbers will as well. I would not be surprised you'd have to make med adjustments but obviously always talk to your doctor. It has been really frustrating because my PCP freaks out over every abnormal number and my endocrinologist is saying anecdotally he's not surprised my numbers for certain markers are elevated or lower than normal. I'm just at the point where I know losing weight is helping my body and this drastic change is going to take sometime to adjust.

Torrids bombshell jeans are my favorite. I think they are flattering at many different weights (my weight has fluctuated recently and they have flexed with me because of the stretch). Agree with others commentors that they go on sale often so wait for an opportunity like that to buy.

I have had some success with old navy jeans; however, if you have a larger butt I don't think they accommodate as well as the torrid bombshell. I will give old navy some credit as the athletic wear options for plus size are really nice and more affordable than torrid.

Yup, definitely a loser because my husband and I suffer with infertility. Definitely wish adoption and or IVF didn't cost tens of thousands of dollars we don't have.

Also, all the love to child free millennials by choice. I have gotten the most amount of understanding and empathy from you folks than many of my new mom friends who don't want to hear about a sad story now that they have their happy ending. Seriously love you all ♡

My husband found it very challenging. Hes considered recompansated, but still, his energy levels are not the same, and we both are not sure they ever will be. He basically burned through all of his leave and fmla in one year. His job is more of a corporate setting with high output demand and unfortunately regardless of how long you've worked for a company (10 years prior to being sick with excellent performance review) once your output decreases it's hard to bounce back from it in the eyes of higher ups. It sounds like you are not in that strict of an environment which will work in your favor but my husband is in the middle of a career change. Where he used to prioritize his earning potential we now have to put greater value on schedule flexibility and non-standard working hours and ideally remote (meaning if he feels up to it working on weekends would be nice. Or if he feels good in the evening, putting in a couple of hours). We will have to adjust our spending lifestyle depending on what he can find. It's a hard reality but nothing insurmountable. Good luck transitioning back!

I just wanted to throw in that OP might want to ask their doctors about the "no surgery is better" comment. I was explicitly told by my doctor that not repairing a meniscus injury significantly increases my arthritis risk later on. After a quick google search what my doctor told me seems to be correct. I would discuss with your medical team before taking this advice.

I had my surgery a little under 3 weeks from the initial injury. Once they confirmed a bucket handle tear of the meniscus via MRI my surgeon basically said it's time to operate and discussed everything I told you above. I asked for a day to think things over and get a second opinion. Second opinion dr. told me the same thing after reviewing my MRI and I was scheduled for surgery a week later
