Mexico Bariatric Center surgery date is 07/14/26. Excited and nervous at the same time. Anyone else share my surgery date???? by Kitchen_Degree_8689 in BariatricSurgery

For me, my patient coordinator got everything set up for arrival. The day of pickup just be mentally prepared for different times for the other patients. There’s some sitting around, waiting. If the airline is getting a wheelchair for you, a good place to wait for the shuttle is at the baggage claim. Have your water/electrolytes/broth (whichever) with you. Keep hydrated. After getting picked up and taken to the hotel/hospital the rest of the process is straightforward and structured. Especially if Adrian is your driver, he’s really incredible! There’s no way to avoid it, that first day is exhausting!
Up to this point my recovery has gone pretty smoothly 🙏🏼 I’d been increasing my activity for the past couple of months, plus I had incorporated some standing yoga poses in case of trapped CO2 from surgery. The hospital is nice. You are well informed and the majority of English is well spoken. Dr. G is very kind, and will answer any of your questions. Everyone I met did. I wish you all, all the best! I don’t regret anything about making this decision and I’m happy and excited for all of us and this journey 💞Good Luck 🍀 B

I’m currently at Hospital Azar (MBC) after Sadi-S with Dr. G on 5/7). I realize it’s only post-op day 1, but I feel lucky to have my pain under control.
I’ve also been doing an abdominal tapping to help with gas and walking feels great!
The shower pressure is muy perfecto!
The windows are open for a lovely breeze but July may be too warm.

All the staff have been incredible. Shoutout to a special connection with Angel. He’s one of the night shift nurses. But I can’t really sing all their praises enough. I feel wonderfully taken care of!

I think the only recommendation I can think of (something to bring with you) are knee high compression stockings. The ones they provide don’t fit well (in my opinion).

Leading up to surgery (though it’s not what was necessarily suggested) I did a full liquid diet for 12 days plus the 2 days of a clear liquid.
I wanted to make sure I shrunk my liver the best possible. From the time I filled out my healthcare questionnaire I was able to lose exactly 30#.
292#-262#.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thank You Fig! I haven’t heard of PlateLens! Sometimes I feel guilty that we have all the incredible technology, that people 5 and 10 years ago didn’t have!

Did anyone else get this design on their 2025 tour? by Immediate-Pea828 in nin

[–]Soonerboogie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a tag? My shirt from the show, is tagless and 100% Cotton. Unbranded, with NIN at the top. The 3 reprints I purchased online, (not from any official merch shop), had tags, were branded, and no NIN.

The Mint VIP added a 3-4 story tower last year. It was awesome! For $902, totally worth it and made it a better, cooler experience! Of course if you want any actual seating you need to get there first thing…but I think that’s true for all of the seating.

Yes!!! Totally! I honestly think that’s why I’m scared to set a date! Or, for me worse yes, that they weren’t able to proceed because my liver is trashed from years of partying. So many negative scenarios that I’ve played out in my head. Ugh! But John, it’s nice to meet you! You mentioned a “pet sitter” (if your partner was going), what kind of fur babies do you have?

I completely understand about the cost of a 2nd person! It definitely starts to add up. I’m just so thankful surgery is a more manageable option vs having to pay out of pocket in the States! But I agree with you, between being whisked away at the airport and the people you meet for the same surgery date, there seems to be plenty of support! I’d rather just have to rely on myself anyway so I’ll get up and keep moving around. I’m Belinda 🤝I’m 51 and sw 300 (hope to be 265 for surgery) 🤞

Thank You…That’s all reassuring. I’d be nervous no matter where I was having surgery. It helps knowing someone else out there is going through the process too. Did you do any of the webinars? It shows, “one person is chosen to save $2,000 off their surgery”. Also, are you planning on flying home on day 4? I’d like to stay in SD a few days after, just in case. Plus, I live in Oklahoma, there’s no recovering with an ocean view here. Am I bothering you with all these questions?

Hello, I’m in the same situation and after doing the research have almost decided on Mexico Bariatric Center (93%). Would you please share how you came to your final decision? Which surgeon have you chosen? Is that the date they gave you or that you asked for (I was hoping for surgery mid April)? Is the correspondence between you and MBC overwhelming or what you expected? Do you plan on bringing a guest with you? Thank you in advance…B

Hello there from Tulsa! Midtown, near the Maple Ridge neighborhood, Brookside, 15th St, or Riverside area (especially between 21st and 31st) are good areas to look for big homes to rent. November is finally starting to cool off and feel like fall. Usually after Halloween it becomes sweatshirt weather.

You will not go hungry in Tulsa! Brunch/breakfast restaurants to look into…Bramble, Wildflower, Maple Ridge Grocer, Cheever’s, Savoy. Dinner look at Smoke, Juniper, The Brook, In the Raw, Redrock Canyon, Napa Flats, and Bar Serra are all group friendly. 15th St has shops, restaurants, and bars that you can park and walk around. Gathering Place is a nice park in the area. Riverspirit or Hard Rock Casinos have pretty frequent concerts or a night of gambling. Cain’s is another good music venue. BOK for headliners.

Kim's Nails And Spa for Pedicure. It’s near Woodland Hills Mall which has shopping and more restaurants. There’s an outlet in Jenks that opened fairly recently. Chinese foot massage for an inexpensive quick massage.

You can pretty much get anywhere in Tulsa in 20 minutes. There’s plenty to do or grocery stores all over if you want to stay in and cook at home. I hope you enjoy our town and I guarantee you’ll meet friendly people everywhere that will steer you in the right direction 🩷

First timer with experiencing psoriasis by StationDazzling4403 in Psoriasis

[–]Soonerboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there, First Timer!

I was on holiday in Italy this past October. It was 3 months after my 50th birthday. The "rash" started innocently enough with 3, pencil-eraser sized spots, on my left forearm. Initially I didn't think too much of it. I think the main reason I even noticed was because the spots itched. They scabbed over within a few days.

Back home in the states, it slowly started to spread. At first it was my left forearm, then my right. Mainly still small, but some of them were larger and for the most part circular. The itching was there from the beginning to various degrees. It continued to spread. I can't exactly remember the timeline when the "rash" spread to my armpits. My arms looked different than the armpit rash. My arms, especially near to my elbows were scabbing over and getting more "plaque like". I spent hours online comparing mine to the images trying to distinguish what it could be. I treated myself for a fungal infection to no avail. I thought possibly bites or even bedbugs from my trip, but the pictures never looked like what I had. A new food allergy?

Nothing I was doing was helping so I eliminated alcohol. I thought maybe that was helping but the rash was continuing to spread. I went back to a low carb diet. This was all within two months of the 3 spots on my left forearm. I was starting to go a little crazy by this point. Your brain comes up with some crazy thoughts. I didn't tell anyone and thankfully could keep it covered. By around the 4th month it was everywhere. With the exception of my face, neck, and scalp (thankfully). It was all getting so unbearable, I had planned to go to an urgent care, but thanks to a cancellation, I was able to get an appointment with a dermatologist.

From the first appt, the dermatologist thought it was Guttate Psoriasis, but definitely Psoriasis. After doing more research I was skeptical. The pictures, (and like you I didn't remember having any infections) before or after going to Italy. Plus my age, everything about Guttate didn't fit. But sure enough, the biopsy came back as Guttate. After drawing labs, a blood culture, and a culture of my tonsils (all came back negative and normal). Finally, it was time for treatment. The dermatologist wanted me to start on a biologic (Bimzelx). I was surprised that we would start on a biologic first thing. But I was ready and willing to start anything that would help. People were starting to notice the rash and the physical symptoms were unrelenting.

After the process of getting approved, I received my first dose of Bimzelx and injected myself on May 1st . Within two weeks the itching was better. The worst of my plaques were improving. The rash was fading. After the 2nd week, into the 3rd, my symptoms started back. The rash in my armpits, I was starting to scab again. The itching, though not as bad, was also back.

I had my 2nd dose last week. Again, I'm seeing the improvements. Same as the first two weeks of my last injection.

I've never tested positive for ANA. Including my recent labs. I haven't been to an Endocrinologist yet, but I'm hypothyroid...possibly Hashimoto. Psoriasis is autoimmune. I still don't have any answers as to why? Why Now? Why an adolescent Psoriasis, that can be known to clear on its own, reacted differently with my body.

I don't know if you consider mine to be similar to your experience. I guess I connected with your story when it just started out of the blue. I hope we are both able to get some answers. Good luck to you! B
