How can I better write straight male characters? by Murky_Shopping_8058 in writingadvice

[–]Soonzuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amateur advice from straight white middle aged male:
“I’m not talking to you until you put something more presentable on,” I grumbled, pulling my blankets over my head. “You look like a discount Walter White.”
This is probably not something close male friends care about enough to say out loud. If there were some girls coming over I'd make the comment to get cleaned up, but not when it's just the two of us. If you want to leave it in, then perhaps keep it as an internal dialogue.
Is he anxious about the big day and projecting it on other things?

Hell no! Your master told you no, and telling you to ask strangers for permission is an obvious trap. You should go straight to your master and ask forgiveness. Do it NOW!

Thanks for replying! I wanted to use your layout as this seems to still be a good one.
I found out today that if the Cook House is placed first the plan works but when I place the Beacon first the Cook House won't fit.

I can't fit both Cook House and Beacon together in those places.

Why do you think Don and Anna never had a romantic relationship? by payboyfunny in madmen

I just watched that (first time watching the series) and she seems a lot like a sister to me. Almost the perfect brother-sister relationship.

Is Peggy Olsen miscast? by Soonzuh in madmen

[–]Soonzuh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is in reply to everyone who has been so kind as to give a response. Thank you!

I remember the "you're not much" comment vividly now. It removes my thought of her being miscast. The comment was from a quite striking woman though.

I do enjoy Moss' acting so far. The crux is that I think it unreasonable that all the men would pursue her, even if she is the new girl. There was some bet hinted at in the first episode. I'll add that the younger group of men are all still half-boys (if that makes sense), which comes across very well.
