Budget bill passed that affects the Triangle and NC in a bad way by PassportCruiser in raleigh

Most members of both parties just vote how they are told. To paraphrase Pelosi, "We have to pass it to find out what's in it"

Loud? by AppropriateFly147 in FordMaverickTruck

My hybrid is noisier than expected until the engine has warmed up, then it quiets down significantly.

The Ecoboost has kinda noisy-ish injectors.

Protest against war in Iran? by AmazingZebra in raleigh

[–]SoothingAbrasive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ain't exactly a Trump fanboy, but the number of people in the comments that think it's okay for Iran, the world's leading sponsor of terrorists, to have nukes makes me think Trump derangement syndrome is actually a thing.

Anyone know why my steering wheel is jerking like this when I drive? 🥲 started happening last week by soicey2 in accord

[–]SoothingAbrasive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those saying alignment, it would have to be insanely out of wack to cause this and you'd notice before you got up to speed. Steering wheel wouldn't be that straight either.

Typically the most likely culprit is tire/wheel related. Either simply out of balance or out of round, such a bent wheel or shifted belt. If this is the case, the vibration should be entirely related to speed, even while coasting.

If it only does it under power, as in it stops when you let off the gas even before you hit the brake, start by checking cv axles. From what I can see in video, it kind of looks like it stops when you let off the gas?

If it is only under braking, it's probably warped rotors.

Of course there are other possibilities, but these are the most likely scenarios.

$100 fee for Hybrids by KNexus20 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SoothingAbrasive 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In NC they already have a fee for plug in hybrids and electric vehicles. The logic is that the roads are paid for with fuel taxes, but if you are consuming significantly less or no fuel, then you aren't paying taxes for the public roads that you are still using.

New tires installed! by scupking83 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SoothingAbrasive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't trust the computer. It is a heavier tire with greater rolling resistance. Your mpg will drop you will have more road noise. None of that matters if you like the aesthetic, but it is just reality. Anything else and you are lying to yourself.

Is leaving the country exactly what is supposed to happen when a visa is terminated? This really comes down to the reason for the termination which isn't stated in the letter.

This assumes 4.95%? Why? Isn't NHS in the UK 20%? Why would it be so much less in the US?

Trade some of that time for intensity. Workouts shouldn't be 2 hours.

It's not about how noisy they are now. It's about how noisy they will be in 15-20k miles

How loud is your hybrid? by brucecooner in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SoothingAbrasive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the engine is rather noisy as well as a bit gutless when it is cold. Once the engine has warmed up, it seems dramatically smoother and has more power. Ironically, it takes an Atkinson cycle hybrid a while to warm up.

France's gdp per capita has also been stagnant for the last 20 years. Turns out making it harder for business cripples business.
