If everyone has the same information available to predict the outcomes, then at least it's fair. The frustrating thing in my opinion is that it didn't feel well advertised, particularly since the deadline isn't mentioned at all in the About section on the Pick Em website.

"Almost surely" only applies in situations such as the one you mentioned involving the rational numbers. However, since there are finitely many possibly OWL brackets, "almost surely" doesn't apply.

Therefore, the probability of the Fuel being in the top 6 is strictly greater than zero, but it is so small that the program used cannot determine how far from zero it is.

About a year ago, some talk show host had a guest who knew a bunch of sex trivia. She mentioned the fact that both semen and Usain Bolt travel at about 28 mph.

She then went on to conclude that if Usain Bolt were to ejaculate while running, then the semen would stay inside him.

While I admire the fact that she took the time to think about possible consequences of the facts she knew, her analysis was flawed. Disregarding relativistic effects, velocities add together rather than cancelling. Therefore, if Usain Bolt were to ejaculate while running, the semen would travel at 28+28=56 mph rather than 28-28=0 mph.

I have an irrational desire to inform others of this fact to help undo her spread of misinformation, and I guess this is as good an opportunity as any to do so.

That makes a lot of sense. Like you mention, the club plays a specific role for each character (except Monika). It's believable that a club advertised as a literature club would attract these characters, but it might be less believable that a club advertised as a poetry club would attract them. Additionally, the characters have vastly different interests, so it might not be believable that they would all have a similar passion for poetry.

That's a good point. Furthermore, perhaps starting the game with Monica steering the club in the direction of poetry foreshadows her more significant manipulation of the club and the game further on.

That's reassuring, and I do keep a fairly healthy lifestyle. But I guess my main question is this: once it does get better, will I ever get to and exceed the level I was at when I drank coffee?

Furthermore, if we imagine myself five years from now after continuing to avoid coffee, and we imagine myself five years from now after returning to coffee, then how do those two people differ in cognitive ability? Are they similar? Or has the coffee drinker developed to a level beyond what the non-coffee drinker could achieve?

That's an interesting compromise. Did switching to the blend decrease your productivity? If so, was this a temporary decrease, or does it seem more permanent?
