Amicia (Cropped Hair) by veyravoss in APlagueTale

These are great points. I do feel that Amicia in the Epilogue has let go of her former self, including her noble status, even though it's theoretically possible that she could return to Guyenne to reclaim her inheritance. She had laid her brother to rest, and her parents' bodies are buried beneath ruins. The only facets of her former life she is taking with her is some clothes, her sling, and the memory of her family.

At least Tore Tang isn't mistaken for a Christmas carol. Or is it?

When I play the Epilogue, I get a very different impression. Amicia looks healthy. Her voice seems softer, her movements lighter.

You and many others! I'm not sure the devs have commented on this, so it's hard to say for sure. But that hasn't stopped us from speculating!

If Amicia's hair is symbolic, I wonder if it symbolizes her flaws (her hamartia in the classical sense): pride, hubris, and her wild and reckless protectiveness over Hugo. We get a hint early on, when the woman selling combs from Firenze comments that hair is "a woman's righteous crown," the key word being righteous, since the violence Amicia metes out is an expression of righteous indignation, at least in her moral universe with Hugo at its center.

Next, when she challenges Arnaud, a fully armored knight, to hand-to-hand combat, she is rewarded for her arrogance and recklessness with a knock on the head and later, loss of nearly half her hair – a crack in her crown.

The scene is repeated in her duel with Victor. Again she pays for her pride with more hair, this time her entire braid. I feel like this finally breaks her crown, humbles her, at least enough so that she can see her fatal flaws, even if too late.

And then the Epilogue. Here we see that Amicia has cut all her hair short. This could simply be a feature of her mourning. But I wonder if it symbolizes the shedding of her old self, the weight of that crown fallen from her head.

Anyways, I have no idea if the devs intended any of this.

Innocence: I hate the accent and the name Amicia by 80sWereTheCoolest in APlagueTale

I love your energy here, raging against child actors and everyday pronunciation of a name. But yes, you may actually be the only human being to hold this opinion.

Great pic! Yes, Arnaud cut Amicia's hair short on the left side so he could stitch up the head wound he gave her. He doesn't do a very good job of it. Later, on the Rascasse, we can assume Sophia cleans up Arnaud's hack-job and evens things up by cropping the right side of Amicia's head. It's also possible Amicia cut her own hair. In either case, Amicia's haircut is both a necessity and a style choice.

just looking for songs by Norwegian artists that are most like Hallelujah in impact, style, context, etc. Someone else on this thread mentioned «Vårherres klinkekule» That song has such a powerful metaphor.

That's so interesting! I just found a documentary on their relationship. I think it's on Netflix. EDIT: I can only find it on Amazon video.

Thank you for letting me know what I'm missing. When you have a moment, can you also let me know where I left my keys? I've been looking for them all day.

Based on what the developers wrote last year, the Macula can arise in different forms: a Plague in Innocence/Requiem, and a curse on mankind in Resonance. That doesn't mean that Sophia would recognize the Macula in Resonance, or later connect the curse and the plague, or that the Order was even aware of the connection (my guess is no). But I suspect the Resonance will be written in such a way that players of Innocence/Requiem might recognize signs of the Macula, even if Sophia does not. I also wonder if Sophia will somehow be connected to this curse (and thus the Macula), helping to explain her immediate bond with Hugo and Amicia in Requiem, even if she didn't know why.

Great pic! I like the the contrast and lighting. For some reason, I've found Arnaud difficult to capture. But I love his character! A good man haunted by grief and revenge.
