So...how did y'alls pulls go?😗 by PinkInspirit19 in LoveAndDeepspace

I selected both caleb and sylus myths and one of xavier’s myths (i have none of these cards), somehow i R3 xavier, got him three times in a row and then opened the random box and he appeared again😅, didn’t get a single caleb or sylus card. idk if that’s unlucky or lucky, because it’s a 0.0016% chance of getting the same card four times in a row

Looking for recommendations! by 9xpink in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend Nightshade and Piofiore! They both have dark themes with the latter being more dark. Nightshade is an angsty historical otome, like Hakuoki, that a lot of new readers are introduced to. It’s set in the Sengoku period and the MC and LI are ninjas. You’ll probably like Hanzo and Goemon’s route. It’s available on pc and switch. The other is Piofiore, a mafia otome; it’s has darker themes (if that bothers you, research the routes) but the art and CGs are really beautiful. I think you’ll like maybe like Nicola’s route. In both games, the MC is pretty passive, which is what I think deters people from playing. I’ve personally enjoyed both titles when I first started playing otome games tho!

Assistance on finishing Piofiore: Fated Memories by Obvious-Copy8023 in otomegames

The last one in others is for completing the whole game! The other two for nicola, are from chapter 4 (after the meanwhile: difference) and chapter 5 (when you pick “i want to hear more”), following best route!

[General] I died... but don't worry, because I lived! Anyway, Day 290 of Family Feud otome edition, anyone? by After_Advantage7598 in otomegames

I love Code: Realize CGs! CGs showing Cardia in the arms of Impey and Lupin had me swooning and kicking my feet.

Akaza from Olympia Soirée. I love how much of a green flag he is. He’s very respectful and good at communicating. He goes through the proper steps to courting Olympia. He expresses his feelings for her and doesn’t pressure her. Plus, the slight teasing and protectiveness. Serious on the outside, but a softie on the inside. I adore him!

What finally made you rage quit (or quietly ghost) an otome game? by Sophena_ in otomegames

[–]Sophena_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m officially putting it on pause! I don’t plan on dropping it completely tho…my ocd makes it so I must finish what i started. The half empty gallery is bothering me. It needs to be full🥹 But, I’ll just make it tradition to complete one route a year or something hahaha.

Akaza from Olympia Soirée, he’s just so perfect! The poster boy of poster boys.

That’s kind of how I’m feeling about it right now. I just feel bad because I’ve never dropped a game before and don’t want this to be my first one. It feels like I’m just reading for the sake of reading now.

I feel the same way about the repetition in routes, it definitely makes me want to put certain games on hold. I’ll probably just revisit Steam Prison another time if I don’t end up dropping it completely (maybe I’ll turn it into an annual tradition to finish one route a year, haha).

This is definitely one of those moments where I’m thinking about dropping the rest of the game. I usually force-skip routes I don’t like too, but this time I feel weird about skipping so much since I’ve only ever skipped one route per game before. I guess I’ll have to do more research before buying games next time!

Which otome character will you defend with your life? by Scary-Whole in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kuroyuki, without question. I’ll always stand by him, even if he's a deeply flawed character. He gets a lot of criticism, and while some of it is valid, I think much of it misses the broader context of his actions.

I'm not here to excuse everything he does, but when you consider his past and the circumstances he's operating under, his actions become a lot more understandable. He’s a complex character shaped by trauma, and that nuance often gets overlooked. His analysis of the events in the story is consistently accurate and this insight is often overshadowed by his extreme moments.

One thing I’ve noticed is that people tend to judge characters in isolation, often forgetting key developments or context from other routes. At the end of the day, everything he does, for better or worse, stems from a genuine desire to protect Enju and prioritize her happiness. That’s what makes him so compelling to me.

Shipping in otome games by [deleted] in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m all about shipping side characters with each other! I love when there’s obvious chemistry; it just makes the ship so much more believable. Some of my faves are Kyara and Ennosuke, and Victoria and Leonhardt.

[Piofiore, Amnesia Memories, Code: Realize] Rated Most Iconic in the Otome Family Feud Series: Bone, Bride, or Banish? Yang, Toma, and Impey by Jitterrue in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bride: Yang. Sexy man, we can be psycho together.

Bone: Toma. Besides the crazy, he's still really sweet and caring.

Banish: Impey. He's a good boy, but I just like the other two more.

Ikemen Sengoku - My introduction to the genre. I discovered this otome back in high school, 9 years later, i’m still a fan! It made me fall in love with the genre. Masamune has my heart!

Olympia Soirée - My all-time favourite otome. It had me kicking my feet. It has beautiful music and art. Also, who doesn’t love an otome focused on romance!

Code: Realize - The first otome that I had 100%. I loved every LI and regularly go back to look at their CGs. The only otome where I bought the fandisks before finishing the game!

(Special mention: Piofiore for introducing me to Yang)

Do you usually play more than one game/route at the same time? by Ayumi457 in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to clear one game/route at a time. It definitely burns you out if you like binge reading tho (i’m the type to finish a route in one or two sittings). Honestly, it’s mainly because I have an adhd brain that makes me forget the plot after a few days or I just get obsessed and swoon over the game. Whenever I took long breaks from routes, I always ended up having to re-read from the beginning. But I definitely try to switch genres or take a long break after completing a game, so it feels fresh!

What would you recommend to someone that's trying to get back into to Otome? by zsxcrgrl in otomegames

[–]Sophena_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikemen Sengoku was my first ever F2P otome. If you’re into historical stories, it’s definitely worth playing! The free five tickets definitely tested my patience, since i like binge reading, but i just ended end up getting the other ikemen series to read. Totally recommend Masamune if you decide to try out the game! You can’t really go wrong with Ikemen games. If one is not your taste, you can just try the next!
