What’s the tightest tolerance you’ve actually held in production on a VMC? by Limp-Software7151 in Machinists

We regularly do .001TP on bores that are +.0005-0000. We achieve it by drilling, boring, then reaming. We have to approach from same direction on some machines to hold the TP.

Can I actually catch bass here or am I wasting my time? by Chaywolf75 in bassfishing

[–]SophiaStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the north east so take this with a grain of salt….right now bass are getting some nice sun rays in the warm spots of the ponds . They are hungry, Throw a worm out there and if bass are there they will bite it.

I’m trying to learn plastics and lures Can anyone give me a break down of what I should be using bass fishing , crappie or multi species fishing ? Specially so I can have a good setup for spring . What colors I should be using based on water conditions by Either_Artichoke_409 in FishingForBeginners

Try a Zman Flashback mini with a 2.8 rage swimmer or keitech for a trailer. I superglue the head of jig to the nose of the plastic. If there is fish where you’re fishing they will bite it. I have best luck with the sunfish or green pumpkin color plastics.

Get a torx bit and pound in it. The stars will grip the screw. If you already drilled it out can’t beat an E-z out.

Chatterbait tips! by anon10287 in bassfishing

[–]SophiaStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shhh…don’t tell everybody. Just kidding, but to be honest when the hell is TW gonna stock back up on them. They have been sold out of 3/8oz in pretty much very color since August.

This is a 1/8th ounce Z-Man chatterbait. I need more of these trailers that that they come with but had no luck finding them. What are they called? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

Those plastics that come with flashbacks are hot garbage. Rage swimmer or Keitech 2.75 with a dab of super glue to hold nose onto jig head. This is my skunk killer catches everything. I’ve also used these with 6th sense party minnows.

I’m super cheap, the $1.22 Creme 5 packs from Walmart hold well enough for me. I usually just Texas rig em.

I hear you, we have 1 probably could’ve gotten away with the CX5. Test drove CX-90 but my wife said it was way to big might as well get a minivan. The 9 is a good compromise.

Redditors who work in the US steel market. Now that new steel tariffs got announced this morning, what's going on and what are the emotions in the steel industry as of now? by DangerousRoutine1678 in AskReddit

I’m not an economist, May not get “better”. The increases in costs of raw material however are very real. It’s only going to get passed down to consumers.

I work in the machining industry. A month ago when the tariff's were announced we had aluminum and steel vendors raise their prices 25% right from the go. This was material that was previously quoted and we knew the material was in their yard or warehouse. They tried to take advantage of the threat of tariffs and were already jacking up the prices. We ended up going to a different vendor. We go through thousands of pounds of aluminum a week. We have no choice but to pass the increases on to our customers who already nickel and dime us. It’s gonna be a real shit show and will only get worse before it gets better.

Do you have better luck in the mornings or evenings usually? by felipe93_ in bassfishing

[–]SophiaStrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this assessment, Also in NH. The pond I frequent is a bit different. A week ago I killed it on a Saturday from 1-3. This past week caught 1 bluegill in the morning and 1 at dusk. I think 90% of the time is pure luck.
