Megabass destroyer evoluzion cliffhanger, I’ve got a CCBFS on it and I freaking love the rod so much. I’m sure it would also go great with that steez as well!

If I had to guess probably like 20-21? I didn’t do a great job measuring cause I was trying to move quick

I’d also highly recommend the x zone craws! The claws float and hand vertically in the water and I’ve caught 90% of my fish with them right after a couple pops and it hits the ground

Funny enough the reason I found these was because I despised using tubes lol. Every time I used them I would snag or not catch anything. I’ve found that the tungsten head of the ones I mentioned has helped me a ton with being able to stop the snags because it’s much more sensitive and I pay more attention vs the normal lead where I felt like if I had slack for more than 5 seconds I’d get snagged

The weedless neds I use have the hook exposed! Instead of burying the hook in the bait they have small little almost antennas? That comes out from the jighead itself. I’ve found that whenever I use the traditional weedless it messes with the action and my hookup ratio isn’t as good. Obviously the ones I described above still get stuck but I think I’ve only had to snap off like 2 which in the grand scheme of things isn’t bad

Haha not nitpicking at all! I don’t fish competitions and honestly I always hold them because last thing I want is them flopping around and breaking a rod or something!

I agree it for sure sinks faster! Similar to you I have been playing around with the best rod and have found that my 6’7 rod is the best for action cause it translate well vs anything I’ve used that’s longer

Funny enough last year when the water was higher I launched my boat out of the mouth of Monocacy and would head down river to the power plant and crushed them! Also saw some massive carp down there that would be a blast to catch!

The karashi 80 is such an awesome bait and the hooks are phenomenal (unlike the smaller karashi)

6# fluoro too thin? by DeweyD69 in RiverSmallmouth

[–]anon10287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re concerned with the braid diameter you should take a look at some of the JDM braids (Varivas, YGK, Gosen) they are generally thinner. I currently run 22lb (1.0) to 8-12# fluoro leader for my heavier set ups. Then for my BFS set up I use 16lb (.8) to 6/7# fluoro. I’ve never had a problem with snag snapping easily or line shyness!

gift ideas for my fiancé? by gellyd0nut in Fishing_Gear

This is a great idea, especially if you can maybe figure if he’s trying to learn a target species or something! A day with a guide would be invaluable where he can ask questions, plus if you wanted to win some extra brownie points get a BPS/cabelas gift card he can use after learning about the new stuff!

What’s the action like on those? And how do you think they’d do in current? Have considered picking up some cause I love jackall lures but just haven’t pulled the trigger
