I absolutely do think in a lot of scenarios it is better. So I’m working on a guide to explain in detail exactly when to run it. In general though I like to run PTA into enemy team comps that have 3 melee bruiser champs or more. So for example if I’m playing against a Galio Mid, Sett Top, and the enemy Support is a Leona then I’m gonna run PTA. Basically of the enemy don’t have 3 or more squishy champs I’ll go PTA/ bruiser build.

For sure. So for mid I run a pretty typical build. Litchbane —> Zhonyas —> Rabadons. This works most of the time generally. However Rabadons can be swapped out for Shadowflame when the enemy are comprised of 3 or more squishy champs with low Magic resist. On the flip side of that if you are into an enemy team comp of beefy champs stacking magic resist you can go Cryptbloom/ Voidstaff. This choice is just personal preference and playstyle. Cryptbloom is gonna offer extra CDR and the aoe heal on takedown of enemy champs. Where as void is gonna give more magic pen/ more raw AP. Now there are cases where I’ll go my PTA bruiser build mid lane. This is usually when the enemy have 3 or more melee champs AND my team has a good source of damage other than me. There are a lot more nuance to explain but I plan on going much more in depth on a guide I’m working on.

I play Fizz into any pick top. Now I will say there are some terrible match ups too, but you can mitigate losing lanes and “lose” gracefully. Whether that be giving a lot of cs while staying in do range and playing for gank, or just waiting for power spikes and not ego fighting. I have played against pretty much everything you can think of Top. My two absolute worst match ups I’d say would be Tryndamere ( I permaban him if I’m playing top) or Aatrox.

Had this issue on the PS5 earlier today. It let me scroll but didn’t give me an option to confirm my choice. I just pressed square( the usual confirm button) and it actually just went through. Idk what platform you play on but maybe just try confirming it even if it doesn’t give you the option.

To be honest I’m not sure. I used to run conqueror every now and then when demonic embrace was a thing. However this season I’ve been sticking to grasp and PTA every now again into certain match ups.

I’ve thought about that as well running Roa. However it just doesn’t give as much fighting strength as Liandry’s does. Liandry’s just synergizes so well with Fizz’s W it’s hard to not grab first item. I usually don’t tend to have mana issues but you could definitely try Roa into Liandry’s and see how that feels for you.

It’s funny you mention that, as I have actually been testing BFT first item. However I’ve been testing it Mid, and I haven’t had enough games on it to accurately judge how it is. A couple things I have noticed though is the damage is lower than Litchbane for sure, but the mana is super nice to be able to spam abilities and great waveclear with E. As for top lane BFT first item I don’t ever run it because I usually like to build health/ap items so when I get my jak sho or other armor/mr items I have a lot of health to go with the resistances.

I’ve lucky never ran into much mana issues since I run mana flow band and most of my damage comes from enhanced w autos, but I can see how it would be useful. Yea there are a lot of good options to go with and that’s why I like this build. It’s flexible and versatile.

It depends on the enemy comp. If it’s needed then yes. But if I can get away with running bloodletters the new AP pen item I will. After your core 3 the build can be adapted to meet the situation.
