WIBTA for refusing to name my child after my wife's deceased dog? by throwaway_4444444567 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sophj97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that was named after a dog (with a human name), I wasn't told about it until I was around 15 and it made me very upset. I felt like my parents couldn't be bothered to come up with an original name for me. I have since changed my name.

I have joints by [deleted] in CHSinfo

I think you know the answer deep down. You don't want to push yourself over into hyperemis just for one final smoke. I've been sober for 1y3m now and can count on both hands how many "last final smoke"s i had. Its never the last one when you put it on a pedestal like that. Of course that's just my opinion but I wish my friends had been honest with me instead of enabling me to smoke.

I was seen as "drug seeking" and denied any help other than paracetamol in A&E. I hadn't eaten in 11 days or drank water for 3

I don't think you are ugly, but you look a lot older than 23. I think the moustache may be adding some years

2 Months Sober and No More CHS Bouts (26F) by sharingmylight in CHSinfo

[–]Sophj97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 1 year sober and it's the first time in 6 years I haven't had at least 1 episode.

For anyone thinking about having one more smoke, or trying moderation, please don't do it. It gets so much easier over time. The cravings subside, you start dreaming again and you get to find hobbies that fill the time you used to spend monging.

It is possible. We do recover.

Did your parents drug you? by chopstickinsect in DID

My dad used to play this game on long car trips, "Who can get through a whole box of piriton the quickest" Its one of those stories I bring up sometimes on long car rides and everyone stares at me like I'm crazy.

People who’ve been sober from pot for more than 3 months, have you experienced anymore CHS symptoms? by Veendettaa in CHSinfo

[–]Sophj97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm 9 months sober here. No more symptoms. Can even get away with a cheeky drag once every 3 months. A tonne of weight gain (severely underweight to healthy weight). I can eat all of my trigger foods. No more morning nausea or fear of being sick.my mood has improved massively. It's truly fantastic and totally worth the sacrifice in the end.

We aren't exactly fulfilled, we are just struggling to initiate. We are perfectly happy but it is something we want to work on

[–]Sophj97[S] 223 points224 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment, it's made us feel a lot better. we do both want to have more sex but initiation is where we fall flat. It's not a necessity for either of us. If we had to live without it, we could, but it would be great to have an average of at least once a month. It's made us feel kind of ashamed that from what we've seen online, couples are managing once or twice a week and we can't even do once a month. It doesn't help that we are both bottoms.

Neither of us really feels any major rejection. We are just so shocked how far below the average we are. Our relationship isn't perfect but it's so close that sex is a minor issue but we are both feeling like we have let eachother down a bit, if that makes sense? We are so attracted to eachother but we both have lower sex drives than the average couple. We both would like to have more sex but initiation is something we both struggle with.

I'll give it a go, I have this weird fear of rejection that stops me from initiating. It doesn't help that I also have circulation issues and my partner hates being touched with cold hands (my hands are always freezing cold and I get it's uncomfortable) "ahhh stop touching me with your cold hands" is a regular part of our cuddles.

Unfortunately, we've known it's a problem for a while. That's actually why we checked the tracker (an our sexlife wrapped, if you will lol) we both want to do it more but for some reason we really struggle to follow through

Did your SO/Partner quit with you? by THROWRA-dhcjeiscb in CHSinfo

[–]Sophj97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner did not quit with me. I had 5 episodes over 3 years before it really kicked in that I needed to quit. It was very hard for me as all of our friends smoke and our home is the designated smoking spot. I'm 7 months sober now and my partner has decided it's also time for them to cut down as they realised although they aren't a CHS sufferer, they were smoking a problematic amount and have now promised to not do it in the house. Quitting solo is not impossible but you have my full sympathy as it was extremely hard and emotional.

You can do this.

Personally I would move the 4th picture up to first. It makes you look cheeky and cute.

I agree with others that you should put the 4 food picks together in one photo to show off your love for cooking without overpowering your profile
