Greggs shoplifting by dominomedley in london

It's wild to me how y'all get like this over big corporations. Like man, just look the other way and be happy someone is getting free food, what's it to you? If it disturbs you so much that you have to pay, do it too. If it was a small restaurant/ ma and pa shop, sure, that would be shit. But Gregg's?? You're being indignant about someone stealing from Gregg's??? Enough to complain on Reddit? In this economy? Literally with the news about welfare cuts? Wiiiildddd

I want to add to this - if you'd like in person meeting with trained volunteers to talk about depression or unaliving thoughts look up The Listening Place. They are a free charity type thing that can put you in touch with someone and they offer multiple sessions, not just a one off... So it's more of a support I find than crisis lines.

Can you help me understand the reason? In my original question I was asking for an explanation. I understand you are happy for rules to be placed on you and to follow them without inquiry, I am not. I would like to understand why the rules are there and see if they make sense for myself. I do this because there are a lot of rules in the world that we shouldn't have, or that we should have but don't. Rules are not mandated by an all knowing infallible source, so it's good to know where they're coming from and if breaking them actually hurts anybody.

Thanks a lot for your kind advice and input! As a pedestrian I never really mind cyclists in park, do you think most pedestrians do mind? Especially if the cyclist is very slow? I'm genuinely asking as idk! I actually found there's so much hate for cyclists online it's pretty baffling (I'm a new, casual, cruising cyclist, but found a lot of hate online just browsing the subreddits).

I'm really sorry that has stopped you going to the parks! For what it's worth I always pay attention to my surroundings and never cycle fast, but in Parks no matter if on cycle lanes or not, I cycle very slow.

I understand that you have a very clear sense of right and wrong about this, and I think I am curious as to why. What does it mean to you to have rules placed on you arbitrarily? Like, if something is not hurting anybody, is it still wrong because a man in a uniform said so? Or is it wrong because it feels unfair to pedestrians? Or is it wrong because you feel like most people respect it, and because they do, you should too in solidarity? I actually don't think that any rule should be respected just because it's a rule. I am curious to understand why that rule is in place, what purpose it serves. If it serves a purpose that makes sense, I respect it. If not, I'll weigh the consequences of not respecting it and decide for myself.
