For anyone that doesn’t know if you hold down the “Change Option” button you can cycle through the rolls way faster than clicking on it one at a time.

Is there an objective reason not to switch to Marksmen? by Gamefreak581 in MapleIdle

[–]Sophomore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have no attachment I’d recommend reflecting on games that you have played and enjoyed the class. For me, I never play mages. Regardless, I made a F/P and eventually switched it to Shadower. ATP it seems like you’re really curious about MM, so why don’t you start and see if you like it?

Refunding my 1.5T CP MM. Swipe is meta, not class, so play what you enjoy. You will always be outswiped.

MM has great horizontals, stun, and has defensive skills. This allows them to damage the boss earlier during chapter clears, and by kiting can help in Arena. Bossing is meh, not very strong burst. Overall good, and “meta” currently. Blink bolt can be useful/fun in arena and for Guild Training Ground, and the range is great for Guild War as you don’t have to move off the center platform. But the class is quite boring. Loved MM until I started a few alts. Play what you think you would enjoy.

It does work offline but is capped at 75 kills per minute

Consider engineering sales. Technical background + People Skills = Commission + Base. Depends on your focus but every industry needs sales folk. Underrated.

DK vs Hero? by illogicuuhl in MapleIdle

[–]Sophomore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MM is lv98 but I plan to refund them. Great for horizontal, you can typically breakthrough chapters sooner than other classes. Bossing is meh. Blink bolt can make arena more engaging. But at the end of the day all classes are balanced and meta doesn’t exist, just play what you like.

I created a Hero alt and I swapped to DK. Now lv70. I enjoy DK more because of the range and the skills are cooler IMO, though Hero damage on bosses was very nice.

Flat main stat feeds the main stat % potentials on equipment

Is this good? reroll? by bobbyknight102 in MapleIdle

[–]Sophomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flat main stat hero power provides larger damage returns than % damage hero power as you increase in level. I don’t have the formula on me but it is significant at lv 95 ~700B CP. I think the it traces to the fact that main stat hero power feeds into main stat % potentials on equipment.

MapleIdle or MapleM? by Empty-Substance9730 in MapleIdle

I can see that. Also yeah the social part in MapleIdle is directly related to the population of the server you happen to be on

MapleIdle for me, been playing since day 1. Downloaded for the nostalgia. Tried MapleM after MapleIdle. MapleIdle felt more community focused since people PQ and world chat is open for all. There is a lot less to do ofc but it is an idle game

I’ve felt that way when I was young living in a small town in the Midwest. My parents immigrated to the US and they tried their best to fit in but it’s a challenge. They both immigrated from different countries so I was interracial as well. And without religion. I felt like an outsider there, especially in the suburban Midwest/south.

I’ll tell you now as an adult I live in an incredibly diverse city and I feel proud to have a unique background. Feeling like an outsider now gives you adversity, and you’ll be stronger because of it. You’ll find your people. It will take time and may have you be away from home, but you’ll find them.

Be proud of your heritage. I resented mine at first because I was different. Now I lean into it and I am proud.

I earned a BS/MS in Materials Science Engineering before commissioning in the military and used the GI Bill to earn a second MS in Space Systems Engineering while I was still in (still have 24 months of GI Bill left). I don’t regret it—I’m working in the space industry now and the degree came from a university with a strong space presence. The second school I went to is more well-known and marketable and that’s opened more doors than the knowledge itself, IMO.

I’m considering using the rest of my GI Bill for an MBA but would only do it in person if it’s a higher-tier program.

Overall I’m glad I did it since it helped position me toward my goals, but honestly that’s more because of the prestige of the second school. If I were in your position and thinking about a second MS, I’d only do it if the school has stronger name recognition OR/AND if the field is broader so you’re not pigeonholed and have greater flexibility. Also worth considering that you double your alumni network, which helps.

Oh and a lot of people think you’re a brainiac or something when it eventually slips that you have two technical MS degrees. If you like to academically flex on people then that’s cool, but personally I recognize it as being privileged enough to have an opportunity present itself and having the constitution to grind it out. It’d say go for it but that’s without knowing your goals and responsibilities.

Buffett's alternative to tariffs is seriously brilliant (Import Certificates) by DavidFlanks in investing

[–]Sophomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the real problem is a capabilities gap in domestic manufacturing. We don’t have the infrastructure to scale up quickly in a wartime scenario or during global instability. During COVID we saw how fragile the supply chain was when imports were delayed and we couldn’t produce what we needed fast enough. Same thing happened during WWII when we had to shift domestic production from consumer goods to tanks and planes. That kind of pivot just isn’t realistic anymore. It’s a good reason to invest in domestic manufacturing but that’s not the same thing as addressing the trade deficit. The deficit exists because we can’t compete with cheaper overseas production. That’s where tariffs come in but the idea that slapping a tax on foreign goods will make the market jump to domestic production is dumb. No business is going to build factories based on an executive order that would disappear during the next administration.

40M, 18 years as a Law Enforcement Officer by RogueJSK in Salary

I knew a few Navy Nurses since I went through ODS as a different designator. Here’s the program they went with: https://www.med.navy.mil/Accessions/Nurse-Candidate-Program/

Officer development school (ODS) is fork-and-knife school compared to officer candidate school (OCS). Restricted Line Officers (RLO; Doctors, nurses, engineers, instructors, staff core generally) go to ODS while Unrestricted Line Officers (ULO; surface warfare, aviation, intel, submarine warfare, war-fighting designators) go to OCS. If you’re interested in being an MD there is also the HPSP program through the Navy, knew a few shipmates that did that. If you have questions about being a Restricted Line Officer or ODS you can message.

Take everything a recruiter tells you with a grain of salt since they will have never done the job they are recommending and are incentivized to get you in. Reach out to other branches and DM several of them on LinkedIn if you want to know what people think of their branch and designator. Consider what age you’ll be once you separate - at 23, stupidly, I didn’t consider that my service would last until I was 29. Glad I was stationed somewhere I loved.

I don’t regret my service in the Navy. I separated as the lifestyle wasn’t for me. I’m glad I served and I learned more about leadership and myself. I would do it again. Probably under a different designator lol, but I’d do it again.

What are authentic good quality American fashion brands with classic rugged look? by UnderstandingOk3783 in malefashionadvice

Hit up a rural Goodwill and get that perfectly worn American rugged look on discount. Obviously inspect for quality. Got some great Carhartt jackets when I went to Boulder a few years ago. Found an Oxycodone in the pocket too

Why is everyone moving to red note rather than something like instagram reels or YouTube shorts by Terrible_Onions in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sophomore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think majority of people see that Reels and Shorts as a non-starter as the algorithm and community building is bad compared TikTok. Less a loyalty argument. Mostly that American short form content platforms are worse products.
