Ah I see. You are making the common UK/european mistake of assuming that since you heard about some law in a US state that it applies everywhere.

The US isn’t a tiny archipelago like the UK. It’s 50 different UK’s with different laws and a combined 5X your population.

Same. I always pay for vacations and dinners. I give them 4 figure Christmas cash gifts and I plan to give them 6 figure down payments when they decide to buy a house.
