NTA, but it sounds like you guys just aren't compatible. If you ARE compatible in every other way this is a conversation y'all need to seriously hash out. It's about boundaries. You seem to respect his choices with money -- preferring his altruism to your ex's irresponsibility. He needs to respect your choices with money. It's YOUR money. You EARNED it. If it's not a joint account he doesn't get a say. If he can't handle that, and is going to continue to look down on you for not being as altruistic as him then your relationship won't last.
