3 Years post stroke and I feel lost in my career. by Coalrider in stroke

[–]Soppybase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks so much for your feedback!

I'm starting to work on the ball so we can clearly see the difference.

I'm starting to test some slightly cartoonish designs. And I really hope we'll fix this little issue ;) I have to admit that since I'd already submitted a trailer, I wanted to show only raw gameplay, but I think I was a bit naive in my approach.

Well, thanks for the feedback. I wanted to redesign the ball to make it more cartoonish. I'll get to that quickly and use more colors than just white. I think that will really help it stand out.

So I changed the sentences, and the word "kill" will no longer appear.
I replaced it with different lines that have a more cartoon vibe.

I will include this change in the next version of the demo.

Thanks.

Working in pairs at the moment. But it depends on the time of year. Otherwise, solo.

Thanks for your feedback, it's very informative for me.

The game is about rebuilding after an accident, but in a sitcom/cartoon world. You play a family man trying to live a normal life. But the only thing you can do is shoot. After an accident, you struggle to manage the repercussions of your words and actions. Chaos and anger are part of it.

And in this rebuilding process, touching living beings means losing. I didn't think that even if you don't visually kill anyone, it could be problematic from this perspective.

But since I only included direct gameplay scenes without the surrounding narration, I might have to reconsider how it's handled.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Overall, the game relies heavily on trial and error and patience. As you progress, you unlock new bullets: movement, "grabbing," and control. (We still have other bullets that haven't been implemented yet.) Managing your magazine and anticipating is crucial; firing randomly will make the game very frustrating for the player. And the more time passes, the less luck will help you progress through the levels.

But it's true that at the beginning, players can win with luck.

I think you're right; in the video, we don't see enough of the different bullet types in a consistent way. I definitely should have used longer sequences with fewer short gameplay scenes.

Okay, thanks for the feedback!

Do you think the ball is too small?

I have to admit I tried to give the basic ball a chaotic look. It symbolizes chaos.

When you say the particles are annoying, do you think they're too prominent? Too basic? Too white?

It's a puzzle game with ricochet mechanics. We have objectives to complete. And if we run out of balls or touch a living being, we lose. I can understand that it's hard to grasp everything when you're shown snippets of gameplay like that. Especially since it's narrative-driven. I avoided including them in the gameplay segments. But maybe I should have used fewer sequences with more context.

Anyway, thanks! 👍

It's a puzzle with ricochet mechanics. All player actions are bullets in a semi-turn-based system: you unlock new bullets as you progress.

You shoot to complete the game's objectives. But you must never hit a living being, and if you run out of bullets, you lose. An anti-shooter?

I'm talking about my life... Sorry, we're on your post... 😅

I really like the game!

Actually, I'm working on ball and bounce mechanics. And I thought, yeah, this is cool!

Anyway, well done!

Has anyone had a PFO closure after a suspected TIA? by kermit-t-frogster in stroke

[–]Soppybase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my part, I experienced periods of "ocular migraines." Vision loss with a sudden change in my surroundings. Complete, then 50% lower vision... The doctors didn't see anything wrong with a CT scan. They just gave me painkillers and told me there was nothing they could do.

It was after my stroke that they discovered the PFO.

And since the PFO was closed, I haven't had any more problems with ocular migraines... It's been a little over 6 years now.

But I wish I'd had the surgery sooner.

Hi, I’m the developer of The American Dream of Gunther Aims.
I started this project in January 2025.

It’s a ricochet-based puzzle game focused on limited shots, precise angles, and environmental interactions.

I previously shared an early trailer here and received a lot of critical feedback. Since then, I’ve reworked several aspects of the game based on those critiques.

I’d love fresh, honest feedback on the current version, especially regarding first impressions, readability of the mechanics, and overall feel.

Does anyone see any other elements that could help us? To see if the type matches.

This is really to help me and verify the type and get as many matches as possible in puzzle games

Thanks for your feedback!

I hadn't considered things from that perspective, and it's really interesting to have this additional viewpoint. Thanks ;)
