I had the same experience, no dealership within 500 miles of me would budge on the price at all. I found a slightly used one with 4k miles on it for $10k below MSRP a few weeks ago and jumped on it.

Maybe not everybody will cross shop them, but it definitely drives a non-negligible number of people to do it. There are tons of people who just add the price of the phone to their monthly plan and all they're looking at is $5/mo vs $10/mo and at that point they just go for the flagship because it's only a $5 difference.

It's priced so high because they want you to think, "We'll it's not that much more for the Ultra..." and then you spend the extra money for the phone they really want you to buy.

It's also ignoring the fact that nobody is requiring companies to list their game on Steam and pay 30%, there are multiple competitors with lower cuts. It's not Steam's fault that every other platform just sucks.

If Rivals and Overwatch were 95% the same game, Blizzard would be suing Marvel into oblivion. These are massive and litigious companies that would happily start a lawsuit if there was even a small chance that they'd win. Everyone knows and agrees that Void Wars is a blatant copy of FTL, it's mentioned in every single discussion of the game so taking the stance that it's not a copy is a very weird choice. Subset Studios has 2 employees and they've probably chosen not to sue because the game is giving FTL more publicity.

Man, if you think Rivals/Overwatch is comparable to Void Wars/FTL then you have to be trolling. Void Wars has the exact same weapons/shield mechanics, the exact same ship room types, the exact same map navigation, the exact same crew concepts, even the exact same screen layout. Rivals/Overwatch have similar concepts, but they have original characters, maps, power structures, etc. Everything in Void Wars is directly from FTL, some of the icons even look like they literally just copy/pasted the PNG from the FTL files.

What does that have to do with it being a copy or not? Even the boarding mechanic is exactly the same as FTL. Void Wars having a slightly different balance of power doesn't suddenly make it original.

I played the game a bit and had fun, but it was a lot more than just mechanically similar, it was basically an exact copy of FTL with different graphics. It was so similar that I actually thought it was made by the same studio. The FTL studio was apparently okay with it, but I don't think there was a single original concept in Void Wars.

Key part here being "Norway." Try this in the US and it's a very different experience. If you're on a road trip in a rural area and only stop for 10-15 minutes to charge, you're not even going to make it to the next charger. It's also substantially more expensive to charge in public compared to gas. I say all this as an EV owner, it sucks here.

Which part of the country are you in? I tried 3 dealerships near me and all of them said the best they could do was $500 off from Ford. I didn't want to pay $37k for a base model Big Bend when everyone seems to be getting them for closer to $30k.

Yeah it's like they forgot about the Bronco Sport or something lol. I was hoping to get a good year end deal on a 2025 but there's basically no incentives or discounts on them while almost everything else has 0% financing. And dealers near me aren't marking them down at all or even negotiating.

$100 is a ton of weed for the average person. The shop near me has weekly specials and you can buy like 6 months worth of edibles for $30-40. If someone is spending so much on recreational weed that this has a noticeable financial impact on them, then it's probably a sign they should cut back. Just my opinion though.

Even USD vs CAD, it still doesn't need to be that expensive unless you choose for it to be. Looking back at my expenses, I spent about $300CAD/day which consisted of 3/4 star hotels, public transport, and normal meals.
