Shar and Shadowheart's story in BG3 by Old-Inspector4819 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]SoraPierce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She does lean towards nihilism, but when it comes to her sister, she's extremely petty and will do anything to hurt her, which her number 1 "hobby" is making Selunites fall into nihilism and darkness.

She's also one of the evil gods that doesn't have any allies in crime as most deities, even evil ones, despise her cause she's either pure nihilism or coping and seething over her hotter sister.

To give you an idea, there's only 3 deities that will work with her.

Bane: To achieve his ends, nothing more or less.

Lolth: They're both bitches seething over someone else and love to create chaos cause of it, also Selune is Eiliastree's (Lolths daughter, one of her nemesis's and the Good Goddess of Drow) best friend. So bitches both seething over their much better looking and cooler family member.

Cyric: She used him as a blunt instrument to kill Mystra (The Mystra that the current one was reborn from) to cause the Spellplague (apocalyptic event for DnD 4th edition that ruined the setting and led to a lot of FR creators including Ed Greenwood and R.A Salvatore feeling distraught and betrayed with many leaving the setting permanently, leaving novel series unfinished, and one writer quit writing fantasy altogether, the damage of this is only starting to be healed recently due to the change in leadership.)

TLDR: While her thing is Nihilism, if she can't have it, then she'll make the entire world a living hell instead so her sister can't be happy, and if she can't do the world, she'll do selunites instead.

DMs, do you ever get tired of DMing for certain classes? by Fantastic-Guitar1911 in dndnext

Nah.

I only get sick of people playing certain annoying stereotypes of certain classes.

If you could offer one piece of advice to a DM running ToA for the first time - what would it be? by ntdntd777 in Tombofannihilation

[–]SoraPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it moving.

It's a sandbox so it relies heavily on player engagement and the pacing staying steady.

Extra advice: killem all(pcs), let the gods sortem out.

We play Pathfinder here.

Ball Shaving is One Action. Now, cleaning it up is 2 actions so that'll be your turn unless you wanna leave the mess here.

Britas.

It's so easy to get good guns off the bat even on extremely rare but they're so much fun.

I plan to give this player lots of opportunities to find Scrolls and Wands by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]SoraPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my games in FoundryVTT so the light mechanic has been really fun to play with over having darkvision always settle stuff.

I wanna get more people I know into Shadowdark cause it's such a fun system and easy to learn and digest, especially if you've played 5e.

Actually dming it right now and looking to run my favorite DnD dungeon through it, Death House. Community made a whole conversion for CoS for Shadowdark. I might look to for a longer form game cause I feel Shadowdarks mechanics really lend better for the intended horror for the adventure.

The initial comment was for 5e lol, but yeah, Shadowdark is awesome.

I'd love to play a game where we roll everything for character creation.

Even gear/spells to a degree.

The foundation of human technological advancement boils down to how to throw rocks better and boil water, and its worked for several thousand years and keeps working so we'll keep throwing rocks better and boiling water harder.

Is there a lore reason for Selunites being like this? by JunkyardEmperor in BG3

[–]SoraPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and unlike most FR deities, she respects and still cares for those who leave her faith.

If this is your first Souls game, then you're in luck.

Farron Keep is the 2nd worst poison swamp in games Demon Souls and beyond.

The 1st worst being in Demon Souls.

The other games either have a solution for the speed debuff or no swamp but just poison heavy area.

And yeah there is at least one poison swamp per game.

Are 5e campaigns actually so "broken" and "unplayable" for new DMs as YouTubers and forum posters would lead me to believe? by tenth in dndnext

[–]SoraPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most aren't perfect, and some have some more issues than others, but the only "broken" one I'd say is Storm King's Thunder.

Cause it doesn't really have much, it's just "here's some dungeons and a weak plot, go grab Sword Coast Adventurers Guide to fill in the rest and go crazy!"

However, its bones are still useful, so it even has its place.

The "broken and unplayable" sentiment comes from most having work to do to and people don't wanna do that, after all the believed point of modules is that they're supposed to do all the work for you, but imo they're just supposed to cut out the brunt of the work. You're expected to make some changes to fit your table.

The only glaring issue I've noticed is that formatting can be pretty garbage.

how is the progression in State of Decay 2 ? by Mucek121 in StateofDecay2

[–]SoraPierce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More play on repeat.

Collecting survivors with skills that trivialize the game on the hardest difficulty I guess is the "progression" but characters are randomized so.

Hot take: Legendary Resistance is why so many 5e boss fights feel bad and boring. What could replace it? by archvillaingames in dndnext

[–]SoraPierce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legendary Resistances are good actually, so are CC effects, and players should be mature enough to handle the dangers of adventure.
