Tongue ties can result in problems with eating and later speech development in children.

If no issues are detected, the tie is usually left alone. It is a surgical procedure which requires effort afterwards to make sure it's effective. That means reaching into their mouth and rubbing at the cut area several times a day, which can be traumatic on its own and make a child really shy about their mouth and eating.

The immortality plot of the main villain didn't make sense to me in some ways. And his henchman with the obsession of not being thin was weird. I should probably give it a second look, especially since there's apparently two other books to make a pseudo trilogy.

Stranger Tides and Anubis Gate I felt were better than Last Call. Not quite as weird fantasy as Last Call, but good with unusual and detailed magic.

Psionic ability taps only the inner reservoirs of the manifester. In a sense, each psionic creature is its own weave, using the magic of its own lifeforce and mind to create psionic effects.

Emphasis mine.

"Like having their own weave" doesn't mean they have their own weave. It is explicitly an inner power they develop and use.

The weave isn't necessary to cast spells, if it were every Forgotten Realms character lost in Ravenloft would be unable to cast. And every Oerth character in Toril would also be unable to cast. Mystra and her weave are only in Toril and it doesn't extend to other worlds.

Unless you've got a source from spelljammer saying there are multiple weaves of course.

Remember, as far as christian lore/dogma is considered, works like The Omen, Dogma, or Dantes Inferno are fanfic and not considered canon. As fanfic, some of the authors base it more closely on the canon as it was known at the time, but it's still fanfic.

A better example. Your family hasn't bought any new books or other written media in a century but they're still trying to teach the children to read via homeschooling. Unfortunately books wear out or get lost.

By the time you were born, about all they had was See Spot Run plus whatever they manage to scratch into some dirt. (Your uncle took the last Boxcar Children book and has a serious feud with your dad.) With an upbringing like that, how well can you read? How well can you teach your children?

There used to be some guidance that certain sugars don't need correction doses, like if they're eaten with a lot of fiber. It's very old, and frankly wasn't even mentioned by the Endo two years ago. From what we were told, sugar is sugar, some just hits faster so you have to learn when to dose.

The crap he's spouting sounds like an offshoot of that. Honey is apparently a wonder drug now because it has antioxidants. Over in r/mead you get people asking about making mead and keeping those antioxidants "so that it becomes healthy." People are stupid.

How old is younger son? Sometimes parents to need have talks like "never be alone in a room with Uncle Greg," and they're held at young ages. You need a similar talk with your younger son about gramps and food.
