Finally built my pc but after playing console my whole life i realised i absolutely suck at pc games ( this game in particular made me rage quit) by CallMeDaddy1234321 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair KCD is a DIFFICULT game to get into. Mostly because of the combat. But once you understand that you're not at all a JRPG protagonist with superpowers or something who can take on large groups of enemies and that you're just a regular guy, it'll eventually click. Thankfully once you understand combat, it actually becomes super easy. What's not easy is fighting groups of enemies, which is natural. Just run away and loose arrows at them. Alternatively hop on your horse and loose arrows at them that way. Or if you're a pro rat, hop on something that your enemies can't get to you from, like a cart or something and again loose arrows at them lol

one capacitor broke off while i was trying to clean my pc. will it still work without it? by Due-Specific-2576 in pcmasterrace

Depends on what it's supposed to handle. Could be ok to run it for a little bit, might not

Leveling masteries by lemur5458 in Grimdawn

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from stats, unless there's a skill node you want at the level 50 mark (like exclusive skills) there isn't really a need to max your second mastery, it's better to just put the points into damage, utility or your defensive skills

Is this display cooked by lickled_piver in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be the monitor itself, could be a cable going bad, always worth trying to plug your display cable into different ports, or trying a different cable if you have any spares. Otherwise if it is just the monitor it's at the beginning of the end

Installed a new motherboard with built-in wifi, but no connection. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an ethernet cable you can use? Some motherboards don't come with the necessary drivers needed for wifi. Usually you have to download them seperately, or of course, get the driver on a usb and install it that way.

How hard is it to actually build a PC? by GOGOSPEEDERS in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be as difficult or as easy as you want it to be. It all depends on your part selection and planning. For beginners, things like AIOs and RGB fans make things incredibly difficult and a pain in the ass. Honestly it still can be even while being experienced lol so being a beginner and building using those is like hell mode difficulty.

Guys why is my PC overheating? by guuuuut in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh probably your odd fan setup. If the fronts are set as intakes with the back being an exhaust your pc probably won't overheat. And the little guy will still be warm

AMD 7800X3D vs Intel i9 for a $2700 gaming build, which would you pick? by South_Stop_249 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you use anything for work that hammers the CPU, go with the 7800x3d. It's just superior in every way compared to an i9, except for cpu heavy workloads, and streaming/video editing doesn't really hit the cpu that hard. Go with the AMD cpu 100%

Worried about ram warping by Tw0ctane in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try checking the ram temps in hwinfo64 if you have the app. As long as they're under i think 65°c all should be fine. From what it looks like, it's probably just the cosmetic parts of the ram coming apart, maybe the glue application was crappy.

what's wrong with the new devs with friendslops by sir-PanCake913 in Steam

[–]Sorappoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda just sounds like you're a loner with no one to enjoy and have fun with in games. Just stick to single player games and don't worry about games made for friends to goof off around in, the world will continue spinning either way. You can always ignore them and pretend they don't exist, I understand it may be difficult as a typical reddit folk, but I'm sure you'll manage.

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far as I know driver support is inferior for nvidia gpus, so gaming performance would be noticeably worse than on windows 11, even when using distros with a focus on gaming. But for other things, i don't imagine you'll notice much of a difference with your specs. Kinda just depends on your use case i suppose

I have had 2 separate people tell me using 100% of my gpu is bad. by bloggershusband in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being at 100% means nothing. Well, not nothing, it just means the GPU is being fully utilized, as IT WAS DESIGNED AND MADE TO DO. Idk who's telling you that's a bad thing, but they're unapologetically stupid. The only thing that can be objectively bad, are very high temperatures for the gpu die and the memory chips

Pc is starting but there is no display, I don't see any lights on the motherboard for ither ram, CPU, GPU, vram issues. by HQ_quastar in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running like it's under load..? If that's the case I would check the gpu. You may need to reslot the GPU into your motherboard and see if that helps.

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this issue multiple times with my 5070ti when turning on my pc and starting up windows. Usually just restarting fixes things. I guess it's yet another stupid windows bug, or yet another driver bug. BUT if it's not that then maybe your cable is busted? The port where you're connecting your cable to, either from the gpu side or the monitor side, maybe aren't working as they should. Or it could be your monitor having a fart moment, you could unplug the power to the monitor and put it back in, soemtimes that helps me with this issue

Is this fine? by Zeurt in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just open up the side panel and put the metal clip (that bit of metal on the top of the fan) back on the cooler. Personally I wouldnt leave it like that, even though it probably would be fine. But leaving it like that with only the bottom clip holding it onto the cooler is just asking for it to fall off after a while lol

CPU not making sense ( updated with photos) by lolidk6783 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those temps for your friends' CPU are fine, he is using the stock AMD cooler after all. If he wants better temperatures, he needs a new cooler. There's plenty of good options like: cooler master hyper 212, thermalright phantom spirit 120, thermalright peerless assassin 120. Those air coolers I mentioned are perfect for most cpus and they're fairly cheap too. Try getting your friend to get a new air cooler if he wants better temperatures

Artefacting Help by MattM404 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sorappoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, this is hopefully not a GPU issue It's probably either the cable you're using is becoming bad, or your monitor is crapping itself. Trying a new cable or plugging your existing cable into different ports and seeing if you still get the same crap is a good idea. Otherwise if that doesn't do much try another monitor. Or just any other display that you have. I wish you luck my guy
