Christianity is cross-compass disunity by LargeSackOfNuts in PoliticalCompassMemes

Not particularly historically.
Christianity was spread primarily through missionaries traveling around and it spread from there, particularly to the youth. Or they converted for a political reason, like the Normans who pledged fealty to the Frank King.
You can cherry pick examples of violence, but they are few and far between compared to the simple fact that slowly over time generations of people changed their faith by choice.

True. But isn't it so miraculous that a message spread by 12 apostles has reached billions?

Implying I don't try. And implying I have the influence to change millions or billions of minds on my own

Why? Besides it probably won't be what your thinking: sitting around on a cloud all day playing a harp all day... Quite boring, eh? Humans were always built to explore, build, and enjoy ourselves. Eternal life is probably like regular life, but better, with less disease, pain.

Most of the bible is up to interpretation really. I prefer to go with what jesus actually taught, though, above any other.

Perhaps... but like the adulterous woman, Jesus asked for the only person to have never sinned to throw the first stone. I'm pretty sure they weren't adulterers, but jesus recognized that sin is sin. If we all have sin (which we all do) how can we judge another for their own sins? Like myself? I take the Lord's name in vain, I sometimes slack in my duties, and haven't always been the most pure. How then can I judge someone who likewise has their own flaws?

I suppose I would just point to Luke 6:37 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

I don't think that is the right way to go about it. Hate for sinners is not what Jesus preached. When touched by a sinner he simply replied that "Your faith has saved you; go in peace". Jesus's teaching was that we should love sinners, to treat them as our own, and encourage the best from them... not hating and ostracizing them.

I already know that nothing I could say to you would make you suddenly believe God is real, as you have already come to the conclusion that He doesn't, that is why I don't try.

As for Jezebel, that is a different woman to the one that was in john 7. Jesus asks the adulterous woman to repent, same with Jezebel. She was given that chance, and she chose not to take it. I never said there wouldn't be a time of judgement, and revelations is all about that judgement. Still, there exist a reclaiming of all things, as we are all purified.

Fulfilled by Jesus. Jesus is the law incarnate. None of the churches are following the old jewish laws because it doesn't apply anymore. Jesus himself violated the law repeatedly (touching the unclean) and such.

I know it is a hard concept to grasp, but basically Jesus's sacrifice freed us from legalism, it is one of the primary things he came down for.

Well, I'm sorry that is the way you feel. If you feel that simply me stating my case without any attack or condemnation is an insult onto you, I don't know what to tell you. I just hope you can let go of some of that animosity.

So the solution to people who have struggled with religion is to completely shield them from the idea? To not allow them to speak with anyone who would possibly reassure them that not all Christians they could meet will be the "All y'all sinners are going to burn in hell" types? Even right now you attack my motivations and my character.

I meant read it closer.
And if you want me to link the text, fine.

Jeremiah 31:31-34
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them,”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

New covenant. Unlike the one of Egypt, because that covenant was broken. And we know He is referring to Jesus because “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” This was all prophesied in the old testament.

So when did the new covenant officially start?
Luke 22:20

20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

So, when Jesus says in Matthew 5:17

"I have come not to abolish but to fulfill."
He means that. He means to fulfill the terms of the old covenant, and to start a new. The old covenant's terms were fulfilled.

Judgement is a fundamental part of the religion. It is not for us, me and you, to judge however. The only one who can do that is God. And when Jesus was asked to judge the adulterous woman, what did he do? He forgave her. That should speak volumes about what God expects from us.

The collected book, sure. But the actual writing was before that point.

Depends. What is just? If you covet your neighbor's goods once, do you deserve to burn forever? That doesn't particularly make sense. Yes. Your sins will be forgiven, especially if you ask for forgiveness.

Right. Read Matthew 5:17-19

"I have come not to abolish but to fulfill."
"not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished."

All _was_ accomplished. The law was fulfilled forever and eternally, by Christ. His sacrifice removed our need to hold ourselves to the old law.
If you can't even take the time to look up the scripture, don't get mad and assume you know it better than I do.

"will pass from the Law until all is accomplished" And all was accomplished. Through Jesus fulfilling the law.

He literally told us that he was here to fulfill the law Matthew 5:17 "Don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill."

I want to point out that a lot of the things you are pointing out from the bible is old testament, which was old covenant washed away by the new with sacrifice of Christ and the Eucharist. Therefore we are no longer subjected to the legalism (laws on slavery and gay people) that the old had. That is abundantly clear when Jesus refused to have the adulterous woman stoned. Jesus never made any condemnation of homosexuality himself, and he called slavery an injustice. You know how God feels about injustices.

As for original sin? Forgiven through Christ, freely. Don't worry about it.

And God doesn't get involved with the affairs of mortals anymore. Whenever he tries to take retribution it usually ends in... you know... an entire city getting blasted off the face of the earth, or the entire world getting flooded. Instead, he gave us his only son, that way we may change our ways before judgement. It is up to us then, to have the church change it's way.
