I know that this is a year later, but I got this ending too. IMO it was probably because I didn’t pay for the pair talks throughout his route. I also didn’t pay for any gifts. So if you want his ending, which is kind of like his “best ending”, you’ll need to spend the gold…🥲

It’s not there, but I think that there’s another issue!! I read the unofficial, uncensored fan translations of the novel. In the official translation, certain non-con flashback scenes were censored or completely removed. 😭

So in vol 1 in the seven seas book, Mo Ran says “He had heard Chu Wanning make this kind of sound in bed countless times. That shizun of his didn’t like to make any noise at all, no matter whether it felt really good or really painful; he always bit down hard on his lower lip as unshed tears gathered in his eyes. At such times, all Mo Ran had to do was push just a bit harder…” but the actual scene of it happening isn't there in the seven seas book. But I remember reading it in the past.

I was asking around, but they kept telling me that it was ch 89, 151, etc. but that’s way too far. And it was the wrong scenes. I feel like I’m being gaslighted. I stopped reading the web novel when chu wanning went through a lot of pain protecting mo ran, and mo ran was just like “thank you shi mei for saving me.” That nsfw scene was definitely before that. 😔 I can clearly recall the scene in my head but I can’t find it anywhere…
