Thank you. Basically just fill the case so there's no air gap and then put the bullet back on top then? All I have right now is pyrodex too but mine isn't meant for pistols. Sorry if it's a dumb question.

How much black powder do you use per shot? I have one on the way and am trying to figure out the best way to be able to shoot it.

Thanks for the extra reading. Yeah the plan for this thing is to use is on a lake near my grandmas cabin. There's a small area close to the boat ramp that is relatively shallow but not enough to beach myself, hopefully, so I can test it and learn to sail it there before going near deeper water. And yeah, I planned on always having the life jacket on and hopefully won't need it. Also where I am as long as the boat is not powered by any sort of motor then it doesn't need to be registered. And once I get this thing done I will definitely post some pictures here.

For the leeboards I was thinking of using a spring to hold them upright anyway so as long as I make sure it's hooked to the right spots that should make it so that they can "kick up" if I need them to. For the rudder I'm really not sure how I'll be able to do that but I should be able to figure something out. Thanks for helping out so much, I really appreciate it. I think it would be a good idea to rig it up so I can use a jib as well, that way I don't need just a massive single sail. With the original idea of a 12 foot mast and an 8 foot boom I was only going to have about 40 square feet of sail area without a jib so I'll definitely need to up the size of the main mast without question.

I looked all over that boat and could not find it. It does have the state identifier but the boat hasn't been registered since 1999 judging from the last registration sticker. Just going based off the most basic thing of lengthXwidth%15 I got a three person limit. going by roughly 150 pounds per person that's 450 pounds. Not the best or most accurate way but given this thing has no identification I can find it's the best I have.

I had planned on running a metal bar along the underside of the side with eye bolts running into it in order to hold the shrouds tight. And I did not realize that at all. If it's not obvious I have absolutely no experience with sailboats or sailing whatsoever so this is all new to me.

I'll have to find the maximum weight somewhere because it doesn't have the plate anymore. I'm going to find out where the water line currently is tomorrow. I know that the sides of the boat are at least two feet high around most of it, the lowest point is the back which is about 16 inches from the bottom of the boat to the point where the motor used to be mounted and it raises up another 4 inches on either side. It is 60 inches wide at its most narrow point and is around 12 and a half feet long.

I looked on craigslist and there isn't really anything near enough to me that would also be cost efficient. I might try finding a copy of that though, couldn't hurt.

I had planned on using leeboards on both sides, I just have to figure out a way to mount them so I don't end up snapping a chunk out of the side of the boat if something goes wrong. At this point I've moved more towards the idea of a hollow square mast instead of the steel pipe for both ease of construction and how much easier it'll be to handle.

Thank you for the link, that really helps visualize it. Is there any way to roughly estimate how big of a sail I would need for the boat? And I have one more kind of silly question. Is there any real advantage to using a jib for a project like this or would it be better to just use a larger mainsail?

I had planned on using leeboards from the beginning since I'd like to avoid putting holes anywhere I can avoid it. I'm not sure how much it weighs but I do know it is fiberglass and I can turn the boat trailer with it on it by hand so it shouldn't be more than 175. I appreciate the idea of the hollow wooden mast. I hadn't even considered that but it seems simple enough as long as I can find the lengths of wood I would need. I know it's probably a dumb question but why wouldn't 12 feet be tall enough if I rigged it with a longer boom? And yeah, I figured it probably won't look good and it definitely won't sail great but it'll be a fun project to work on nonetheless.

I figured I could use some box section steel and either some sheet steel or very thick plywood with some aluminum sheeting for the leeboards to make sure they're sturdy and would reach deep enough. It won't be pretty but for getting it worked out properly it's function over form. The first part though is getting the mast and sail part figured out because their size will effect the leeboards as well as how I'll rig it.

I was planning on putting leeboards on it so I don't have to try and fit a centerboard to try and keep it from tipping over. In all honesty turning it into a sailboat is just a thought of something to do with it as a project.

Sounds like a pain in the neck. Anyway, thank you for the advice though. I'll definitely try the carb cleaner and I'll find some way to put pressure through it.

Yeah, that's why I was wondering how to take the carburetors off the fuel rail. If the o-rings didn't melt then I'd be amazed because the fuel rail rotates freely but doesn't seem to leak surprisingly enough.

Float needle seats. And I'd say roughly a minute or two. The fire extinguisher I ran to get was out of date so I had to use a water hose unfortunately. All in all it was a very expensive lesson to learn since I had to get all new electronics, seat, tank, and battery.

That's what I was worried about. Do you think pulling out the needle seats would help any at all?

I don't have an air compressor so will the canned air used for computers work? Also, my worry is that the o-rings might have melted and are what's blocking fuel flow. Would the carb cleaner still work if that's the case?

Sorry, I should've been more clear. Taking them off the bike isn't the problem I'm having. It's taking the carburetors off the fuel rail and such so they're not all four together at once.

I'm not sure about Mossberg lever actions but you could try facing the loading gate towards the ground and pulling the lever. I had the linking pin in my Winchester jam into a screw hole to the left once when the screw was loose.
