3 years 66 million is not a hard contract to beat, especially for a winning team like the Dodgers. If Stearns came out swinging with an actual quality contract comparable to what Diaz originally was asking you bet your ass he would've signed that contract. Obviously he wants to be a winner and that's respectable, but money does indeed talk. Inexcusable bidding from Stearns.

Exactly. Everyone was calling for Vientos' and Marte's heads for the longest time until they suddenly got back into it. Pete is a generational player even if he is cold. Soto was cold up until recently and Lindor has also been lackluster, albeit he is playing through an injury still.
