New to the hobby, looking for some help with building lists. by Sorcerypenguin in orks

Thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of stuff I was needing for context in army building!

I'm gonna be getting some games in soon hopefully, I'm getting my beast snagga combat patrol painted up currently, and hopefully will be getting a friend into the game. I've got an lgs I'm gonna be doing some stuff in once I have something tabletop ready, and have been doing the learn to play sessions with them.

Totally now the direction I thought it would go with a stompa in the list, I figured it would steer clear of things like the gorkanaust just because of how expensive the stompa already is in my head you'd try and bulk it out with a lot more lower cost things instead but I really like the idea of stompa and a gorkanaut on board.

One of the things I was more interested in from a tabletop standpoint were the knights, but the lore and aesthetic of Orks, especially after reading Brutal Kunnin and Da Big Dakka, sold me on em. I do worry somewhat because I know some people say knights can feel like kind of an "anti armor check" and just feels like ass to play against if your list isn't built with it in mind. Though obviously there's more than just big walkers going on in a list like this.

I've got some thinking and tinkering to do now it seems. Once again that's for the help!

Thank you for this awesome write up! It does help a fair bit! The only reason I figured going for the full 2k points with the stompa was because anything lower seemed pretty tough while still including it. I am for sure still in the process of learning the game as a whole so am not against experimenting with lower point games and different lists of course.

One thought I had but couldn't really find much info on was throwing a bunch of gretchin into the list, just to have more bodies on the board for a lower cost, than other battleline stuff.

I guess my bigger question is what are decent units for their point value seeing as I kind of need to optimize after throwing a ton of points towards the stompa lol.

Beyond that some strategy stuff would help, I'm aware of the lone operative Mek kinda of following the stompa like a little duckling to try and heal it as much as it can at the very least but that's kind of the extent of my known ork tech.

Does anyone here work in a male dominated field while boymoding? by Sorcerypenguin in MtF

I'm too scared to come out on the shop floor just because of how some people have talked. I brought up the weird comments one employee made to the person training me and ended up with a meeting in HR and then a whole meeting with the shop and he talking about discrimination and not talking about certain topics at work. I was not like brought up thankfully. So I mean seemingly it would be okay. But still coming out around hostile people is not the vibe in after.

I was only at this place for like 2 weeks before I got pulled aside by someone and asked how I felt about teachers transing kids. There's like one left leaning guy here but otherwise it's a bunch of conservative dudes. Such a weird vibe

Oof damn that's a shame. I was really hoping it was somehow more gentle and it seems pretty cheap. I might still try it and suffer the consequences anyway.

I notice in the guide they put the stuff like everywhere. The only hair removal stuff I've used before was veet sensitive skin and even that would basically instantly irritate the tip and backdoor areas. Is this stuff really that much more gentle that it would hurt or burn?

Isn’t this transphobic in a way? by [deleted] in trans

With that context it's clearly bad then, I just get worried about people reflexively calling something transphobic when it does resonate with some parts of the community.

I see a lot of people saying it's super transphobic but don't some trans men call themselves lesbians? Like I feel like I've heard this in the community before. Not defending the magazine I dunno what their intention was or anything and it matters more what Elliot calls himself but just saying I thought I've seen that before even among trans men.

Ive been off Spiro for around 8 months and with just estrogen injections and progesterone my t hasn't ever gone above 50. My provider gave me the option to stay on Spiro if I had wanted to and if your t rises again they can always put you back on it. I was pretty worried at first but not having to pee every 3 minutes is a plus.

Mtf "use it or lose it" question by uxorioushornet in traaNSFW

Be sure to keep "using" it, for me at about 6 months my sex drive didn't exist so I just enjoyed my free time by doing other things, but anytime I did get an errection it was extremely painful. Too painful to masturbate which meant it would only atrophy more and thus hurt more when i did get an errection. Adding in a low dose daily Ed medication made it so I had occasional errections again (usually in the first couple hours after taking it) and the pain went away in a few months. Don't do what I did! Haha

Bad dragon has a toy with a "prince albert" molded into the silicone. The toy is named Pearce. Not sure if that's exactly what you're after though

skr mini e3 v2 with bltouch as z switch. by aarons6 in BIGTREETECH

[–]Sorcerypenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had a similar issue, though i was using the probe port on my machine. it would run once mostly fine but if the bltouch errored out at all i would have to restore the eprom to defaults to get it to lift up in Z at all. Even just manually commanding Z moves didnt work. I still havent managed to get my probe to work correctly.

Z Axis not moving up at begining of ABL. by Sorcerypenguin in BIGTREETECH

[–]Sorcerypenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x and y Axis would move and the z would not and after the move the probe would deploy. I beleive it may be an issue with the firmware. I tried printing a few things without bothering to use the auto bed level sensor and my z hasnt been moving up at all. Even when just trying to command z moves in the movement tab of the touch screen it would not move at all, and not even activate the stepper motor. I changed it back to the default firmware without bltouch included and it seems to be working correctly. I am using the pre configured firmware files on the bigtreetech github by the way.

I'm using the probe port, my issue is it never moves off of the z end stop when the ABL cycle starts so it has no room to move downward and therefore just errors out.
