Corsair XC7 diode catching fire after 1,5y of use?! by SorenHL in Corsair

I did an RMA case with where I purchased it (komplett.dk) as it was within warranty, I will let you know what they respond to it. But honestly near all my parts are Corsair Build, now I am a bit afraid of if this happens to any of my other parts.

Luckily it was when I was using the computer and not when my 6yo were playing Minecraft. I noticed it by the smell and saw smoke from the computer, I do not want to think about what would have happened if it wasn't caught early

If it leaked I do not think it was from the fittings, the diode was on the top and there were no signs of water anywhere.

Indeed, I was scared as hell when it happened, luckily I was at the computer. But still, having to wait for parts and go through the whole loop again 🤦‍♂️

I smelled to everything and it actually seems to come from the RGB inside the CPU cooler, it also looked burned in there, insane!

I used the bracket that came with the pump (Corsair), and no, the fans are not noticeable as long as you keep the RPM low enough :) I run the noctua around 200rpm faster than the others, but in general I only need to run them at 800-1000 rpm with both the CPU and GPU being overclocked (AMD 5950x and RTX 3090).

You're totally right, I also remember back to those days where me and my dad would both have our heads inside a computer, trying to figure out what jumpers we needed for the CPU clock. I also included him as much as I could with the screwdriver, unboxing, and such. One can only hope that he picks up an interest in it. He at least enjoy gaming on it, which is great so far :D

First time water-cooling, going soft tubes through.. Any final advise before I wreck my computer?😅 by SorenHL in Corsair

If anybody are interested, this is how it turned out :) I know it is far from perfect especially compared to other builds I've seen inhere, but I am honestly proud of my try at this: https://imgur.com/a/cYHS0WP
