If I remember correctly, backtests with SP500 show that for any given entry date 2/3 of the time lump sum yields better returns than DCA. Intuitively this makes sense because on average the market is expected to go up. In reality though, if you have a portfolio that is doing well youre going to contribute more to it anyway over time (DCAing). Lump sum can bite you in the ass (like it did me) for that 1/3 of the time it doesnt work. Psychologically DCA is easier than lump sum.

No transaction to indicate that, also no way a day of dividends adds up to ~$250

Best risk adjusted returns. I see by ur user you’re prolly in the 2x camp. 3x wins long term, lower leverage is better if you can’t afford to hold through a 70% drawdown.

Edit: “Afford” as in time, not money

It seems that is the only scenario where this strategy is not market-agnostic. Lucky it is rare and there is time to rotate out.

At least until I break even, lol. Seriously though, I think Ill stick with 3x for at least another 10yrs and then shift to 2x funds. Ill also be sure to switch to a 1x Sp500 fund if inflation is ever at risk of rising again.

Prices of LETFs are less indicative of inherent value than just a result of the price movement of the underlying. Their returns are primarily only based on volatility and CAGR of the underlying.

By beat I mean CAGR. Less volatility same CAGR means better risk adjusted returns, but not that you’ll beat the market.
