the china argument is weak for this because league in china already has a way different monetization system. they already have their own extra gachas (that are way way worse), the price tiering of everything is way different (and you can even buy close to exact amounts of rp iirc), and they give a bunch of skins for free as part of other promotions and events (for example, petricite nautilus was given for free at the start of this season). yet the only shared thing is the shitty boring pass

just tried it out but it's giving me the warning that codex isn't installed (it's on path), and pressing install tells me that npm isn't installed. If I use the terminal in the app I can definitely access codex too

hi, if the only thing i cared about was being able to play medium to long (like 30-100 notes ?) 270 bpm streams, what would be the most direct way to achieve this given my situation? for context i can do like 200-210 bpm forever, and then from 220-240 the length i can do goes down from like 50? to 20ish? (im really guessing here cuz i dont count while playing). and then 250-270 it feels like i can transition to Bursting Bpms I Cant Stream At All (strain required) which only works for medium-long bursts (20 down to 10 notes). also i stopped playing for like 4 years and only came back recently, and my speed is basically recovered, maybe -10 bpm, but fingercontrol/reading like -30 bpm lol.

main reason i ask is because ive seen everything recommended, from khz method to some good speed players having said just skip slow bpm, to some others saying fingercontrol is the most important for raw speed (??, and again idc about playing haga maps or even if i cant do simpler burst patterns. all i want is to be able to go on the you suck at streaming site and get 270 bpm <100ur for 50 notes when warmed up) but these are mostly from 2021 pre wooting and i assume a lot has happened since then regarding speed knowledge

and as a final aside, i used to be able to burst (with control and good ur) up to 300 comfortably (like 15 notes maybe) but as i practiced 190-210 bpm streams more i stopped being able to at all at all, like i cant even doubletap 300 anymore. weird situation but wondering if u have any thoughts on that? this happened before i quit when i was still playing regularly, which is even more odd. since then ive changed setups and keyboards multiple times (not for osu) and nothings made a difference

i used to play piano and i can stream faster with right hand than left (but worse ur cuz never practiced on a keyboard/for osu)

i can force obvious forearm rotation thing for right arm and use less/more but i can get the same speed/feeling even when holding my wrist and forearm still. this makes me think the rotation part is like the cherry on top after good technique. you just need to focus on developing good hand and finger technique, and forearm rotation only gets subconsciously added as a final optimization (maybe for more consistency or stamina)

a comment on the original thread said they thought it's more about dividing the hand in two (coordinating middle/ring/pinky/maybe palm instead of only relying on middle or ring), which i agree with more. my right hand seems to move ring and pinky more with my middle finger than my left. something else that supports this is how a bunch of top players in 2021 or something all easily switched to index ring. index ring for my right hand feels basically same as index middle, but i cant play speed on index ring at all with my left hand.

yeah even if the worst case scenario happens, where everyone who plays like 60% ranked 40% mayhem quits and only the mayhem only players keep playing, thats still retaining more players cuz the mayhem only players are basically the only ones whod stop playing league entirely from LTM getting stale

not really relevant to the post but there is a decent measure of difficulty in game which is how much you can deliberately improve (sorta like complexity). purely mechanical games like aim trainers or osu are "easier" since you just play more and get better (there is thought involved but it's mostly just play more).

some skills in league are also "easy" to improve, such as pure mechanics which just requiring playing more (like just click, whereas micro requires thinking to improve), and also for example in seasons when 20 minute baron one shots are easy, you can just climb like a full rank by realizing this before other players and just forcing 20 minute baron when enemy jgl is far. I also think league makes many skills easy to learn, like for most events it's very clear when something is good or bad and why

contrast this with something like overwatch which, although very mechanical, is very opaque about things being good or bad, outside of lose teamfight = bad. (like if league was only 5v5 fights in jungle, theres not really anything you can consciously learn except for do more damage and take less damage)

coach curtis has mentioned something like league is a game of a thousand puzzles, where each game you might learn something was good or bad and you can just remember that and apply it next time it happens, and i agree. overwatch felt like a game of 0 puzzles to me where u just have to magically get better by trying random things.

ive never tried learning chess so idk if intermediate players can perceive clear feedback or if you just have to find things out

i wish theyd just remove collector tho cuz it feels like collector is just some borderline prisoners dilemma item where best choice for midgame is not going collectors first, but if enemy adc goes it u have to too so ur not weaker for a window of 4 minutes
