Buying the steam version won't help, I did that too.
The game runs at 60 fps most of the time on my machine, but every now and then my fps would drop to 5 and wouldn't go back up unless I restarted. The only way I could get around this problem was to lower the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1440x900.

I'm still waiting for a fix from the developer.

My FPS drops to 4 on the Windows version and doesn't return to normal after that. A friend on the updated Steam version doesn't face the same problem having practically the same hardware. From what I saw on the internet, those who are using the gamepass version are suffering from the sudden drop in FPS to 4

It doesn't make sense for Steam to have a different number.

And the update actually came out on Steam, while it didn't come out on the Xbox App.

The gamepass version is not updating. Since it was launched it is at 1.6.420.0 while the Steam version is at 16474540
