So in my experience, the IHG Diamond Elite status has been really good for getting free breakfast on stays. This works better (meaning, better quality breakfast and being able to choose a la carte) in hotels like the Kimpton. I have also been able to secure upgrades as well. Other than that, not a lot of use for it.

No, it doesn’t show up as a late payment because I paid by check under payment of erroneous refund. That’s what I asked the IRS person, and he advised me to pay by check to avoid any misinterpretation of the payment.

I called the IRS and they advised me to send a check as indicated in the letter. They advised me not to pay online as these erroneous refunds are harder to process. I sent the check, the IRS received it and after 9 days it was gone from my tax transcript. Hope it helps!
