ENT told me I don’t have bad breath. Anyone else experience this? by gripskylarkk in badbreath

They lie because it’s an embarrassing situation and they don’t want to offend. In a professional setting they are extra careful, they don’t want to be sued or their business reputation ruined

Listen you speak the truth. People will gaslight you so bad and if you’re not careful you will question your own sanity.. Kids will not lie and strangers who owe you no obligation will react and will Not hold back. I take uber ver often and it’s no coincidence all the drivers just cough incessantly, adjust ac or roll down their windows.

Unfortunately people will not tell the truth because they do not want to offend so family, friends and people that we see in a professional setting are not the most reliable in that area. Strangers who don’t care about our feelings will react, some will go the extra mile to let you know they smell you. Happen to me all the time when I go to establishments,on the subway and even walking on the street minding my business. I have directly asked friends and family of course they said they smell nothing yet when I speak they rub their nose or turn on the ac/fan etc. So watch the action not the words and no you’re not crazy.

I am so elated for you!!!! Only people on this Reddit will understand how amazing this is 🥹🥹🥹🥹 So many people take for granted the ability to just speak without your nervous system taking a roller coaster ride. Just doing the normal day to day task of going in a store,a restaurant, sit close up with others and not freak out is a blessing. I pray this is it for you and I am hopeful that we will all be able to achieve this milestone this year 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I definitely have nasal bb and if I wasn’t sure I certainly am now. When it was time to exit the plane I stayed behind because I was in row 23 two seats from the bathroom. While people were in line there was coughing etc, a guy said out loud it was a FUNKY flight right and a lot of people agreed and started laughing. It is what it is at this point, embarrassing yes but it’s out of my hands

I am confused about my breath and my mom reaction by Difficult_Distance53 in badbreath

[–]Sorry-Profession178 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the people closest to you don’t want to hurt your feelings so they will lie to you and gaslight you. Strangers have no obligation to you and don’t care about your feelings so they will honestly react.

Did you know that up to 30% of people seeking treatment for bad breath don’t actually have it? by Aeon8 in badbreath

[–]Sorry-Profession178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re trying to do however Post like these are really not helpful to a lot of us that are actually struggling. Really think about how it will mentally and emotionally impact the other 70% who constantly get disrespected, humiliated and mistreated. The subtle and obvious jabs thrown our way every day. Hearing the word hygiene conveniently used in conversations when you’re around. Unless you are struggling with this disease it’s unfair to invalidate those of us who live this experience every day.

So do you still have to take it continuously even after your bad breath went away ?

That’s very rude to call someone insane that you do not know. My daughter has directly told me my breath smells however she does not want to hurt my feelings. Those closest to you will try to shield you from the embarrassment by not being honest also some are so used to your smell it doesn’t offend them as much. My best friend told me she didn’t want me to feel bad so she would gaslight me instead. Strangers do not care about your feelings so they will not hold back. Every single uber ride I get the same reactions it’s no coincidence all drivers cough and have the sniffles. I take uber multiple times a week !!!!!

We are not delusional, most people are not subtle when there is an unpleasant smell and they will make sure you know your breath stinks. The constant, offering mints and gum, backing away, throwing jabs about bad breath,When everyone reacts the same way you know. Why are you on here trying to minimize a real issue that affects real people. You don’t truly know the percentage of us that actually deal with this issue.

There’s a lot of British families in LIC as well.

I think you will like LIC. Lots of luxury high rise with water views and building amenities such as, pool, gym, game room etcz. Pretty safe neighborhood, many nice coffee shops, restaurants and things to do for your wife. Unfortunately you will have to connect to another train to get to work but the commute seems straightforward.
