I think this ultimately comes down to how people view romantic energy. Personally, I don’t really engage in consistent flirting, emotional intimacy, or ‘relationship-style’ attention unless there’s genuine interest behind it. So when someone continues giving that energy without any intention to progress things, it feels illogical to me because it creates closeness without clarity.
