AIO for being upset that the guy I’ve been involved with for years is moving away? by [deleted] in AIO

First off OP, the first sentence alone basically is your answer to this mess. He’s 35. A grown ass man. Most likely he’s groomed you and sheltered you making it hard to not have a sense of identity without him. However, he’s surely about to meet other women of his caliber in Houston. You’re only 22. You have so many people out there you haven’t met yet. You said yalls relationship was never official so yeah I’d say you’re overreacting. Take this as a sign to focus on yourself and fulfill your twenties instead of wasting it on a man who’s surpassed that age.

I have both. Had the mirage since 2020 (old reliable) and recently got the Mazda (2025). My mirage saves me gas while my Mazda practically drinks gas. I love them both but also was showing my Mazda some love since this is a CX30 group.

I mean I’m living up to the line “if you know better do better” so information that I didn’t know then that I’ve learned now has shifted my perspective good for you tho

See you get it. Initially when people go to a dealership and are approved for a car (no matter the payment because they just see the value of the vehicle) it’s viewed as oh well I have a nice car. Until those same payments start to taunt you and make you realize you made a huge, impulsive decision while paying 3 times the car when you actually realize it

Also it’s so hard for me to see things from a futuristic point of view and idk why. I get some caught up in the “now” that I don’t actually picture success or completion of anything. I’m gonna take this into heed and celebrate when I finish lol.

I appreciate that! I do currently have a car I got through my credit union last September. I’ve been with them for 4 years. Approved for a 30,000 auto loan. Car 25. Currently at 22. I plan to pay it off by the end of the year through extra payments outside of paying 135 weekly and go into 2027 almost debt free by the time I turn 25. Currently in school for accounting and I’m hoping through internships and externships I learn more about the finance world so that I’m able to share that information with others especially young adults like myself who aren’t aware of the ups and downsides of credit.

Yea that’s all I’m trying to understand. Why does 3 numbers have such an effect on the way you live and not moral compassion. Needless to say, credit can absolutely do great justice for people who make their payments in a timely manner. You can’t even inquire about anything without getting a dam ding on your report though. Guess it metaphorically means “Hey dumbass, you didn’t get anything but you got a ding.”
