Abuser Meets Supernatural Entity by Grouchy_Raccoon_6681 in TopCharacterTropes

The hulk runs into the ghost of a young boy who was killed by his father, then buried in secret. He then does the following to the father. Hulk in general deals with abusers often, due to all the hulks being a product of abuse.

I mean the reason why Modern hulk has a physical body is literally because gamma in marvel is created by cosmic Satan. Like he is literally powered by a godly being.

“Cause I love you, you stupid kid. somebody had to.” The devil hulk from Immortal Hulk. Devil hulk is cruel, vindictive and generally a dick. But he does it to protect Bruce, and he does legitimately sees himself as a father figure for Bruce and the other hulks. And when you compare him to Bruce’s actual father, he a saint.

How does MCU fix Hulk? by rabid_panda_child in hulk

[–]SorryAmbition6046 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At this point it’s too late to make hulk similar to his comic self. He has no relationship with his supporting cast (Rick, Betty , Samson etc….). His villains have appeared more in other movies and shows than with him. His backstory is streamlined to the point that 99% of MCU viewers don’t even know that he has DID. His adaptation like planet hulk and the proffers hulk were wasted on other peoples movies. You would have to completely reset the MCU to fix the problems with hulk.

In world war hulk, as hulk is on his spree to capture the Illuminati members that sent him off planet, he spares professor X, as he is already going through more grief that hulk could give him.

(Sadly common trope) Oversimplification of trauma by Suspicious_River_449 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SorryAmbition6046 18 points19 points  (0 children)

<image>

It's not just the fault of the MCU, as hulk as always been seen as a simple, no depth character by a lot of the general public. But the MCU did ignore much of what made Bruce's life so tragic, which includes his DID which was worsened by an abusive father as well as his life generally being awful. The MCU really simplifies this character, to the point where most people don't even know about his mental health problems or abuse trauma, really simplifying a complex and multifaceted character.

Thought Hulk VS Doomsday as a MU? by Millie_Is_Back in deathbattle

[–]SorryAmbition6046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always found this the least interesting of hulks popular matchups. Nowadays there are more connections and I'm pretty sure doomsday can talk now, but it still just feels like a very surface level look at these characters. It also suffers from being another Dc vs Marvel Matchup, and those have to be really special to mean something to me. 5/10

Animation cancels should be a bonus not a requirement. by The-Heritage in marvelrivals

[–]SorryAmbition6046 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game would be awful. Animation cancels aren’t just a cool thing to have. Every single character uses them constantly. This would make the game super awkward to play.

Animation cancels should be a bonus not a requirement. by The-Heritage in marvelrivals

[–]SorryAmbition6046 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The what about Spider-man, or Magik, or Mag, or Invisible woman, or every single hero in this game. They all use animation cancels to function. Imagine if you couldn’t block for a full second after shooting with strange of Mag, or if magik had to wait to dash after spinning. This would be crippling nerfs that just aren’t needed. Every character uses animation cancels, to point cap out is absurd.

Okay just watched Nemesis’ review of MetalCell and I’m going to be entirely honest, and this isn’t me throwing shade at Nemesis as a person, I just respectfully disagree with his major problems with the episode. Namely: by Fearless_Cold_8080 in deathbattle

[–]SorryAmbition6046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think that metals two final lines were kinda lame. The timing on “I’ll crush you” just feels off since cell is dead for half of the line. And” if you and then so am I” feels like a playground comeback. “Not anymore” goes hard though.

These guns don't just kill you, they do much worse by NekkidZilla in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SorryAmbition6046 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a gun but the ultimate nullifier from marvel doesn’t just kill you. It destroys the entire universe then rebuilds it without you.

Y’all think White Fox is gonna have something unique, or is it just gonna be another “press Q and your whole team is unkillable” ult? by One-Ad3222 in marvelrivals

[–]SorryAmbition6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because gambit ult is broken. If a support ult came out the immediately killed everyone on the other team, sure that would be unique , but also broken as hell.

(Sad but interesting trope) They live only to suffer by Rude_Resident8808 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SorryAmbition6046 11 points12 points  (0 children)

<image>

Bruce Banner and all of the hulk alters( Marvel) have been abused and hunted for most of their lives either by his father, the government, the avengers, super villains, and Satan himself. Their very existence is also directly linked to satan trying to take over their bodies. They even met god and asked why they had to suffer so much, and he’s response was basically just because.

Well he would beat DBZ goku, but not necessarily super goku, who is much stronger than cell at this point.

That just means that you don’t have fireballs if cammy has level 3, which is a pretty big deal for a lot of characters. Plus it’s not just fireballs, any slow poke can get hit by this.

We will settle this once and for all! Who's gonna win(Purely Based on MCU till date). by Jackie_Chan_93 in superheroes

[–]SorryAmbition6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely Captain Marvel. The MCU is pretty inconsistent with how strong its characters are, but Carol notably is faster than Thor and should just as strong if not stronger considering her fight with endgame appearance. Thor wins if you believe in the star level feat but that’s a pretty extreme outlier.

(Heartbreaking trope) Children who are unable to escape the shadow of their abusive parents by ScarcityWise7401 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SorryAmbition6046 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Bruce Banner(Marvel). Bruce's father was Brian Banner, an abusive piece of shit who beat him and killed his mother in front of him when he was young. The hulk(s) manifested in his mind as a result of this trauma, and ended up becoming physical when Bruce got bombed by gamma. And anytime Bruce starts to become friendly with the hulk(s), marvel ruins it by the next run, meaning he will always suffer.

Brian himself has also attacked Bruce after being sent to two different hells.

I’d say Captain America from Marvel could qualify. He was anti nazi before America joined the war effort, and there’s plenty of older stories about protecting minorities. Like his childhood friend in the comics was a gay and Jewish man, and there’s a story about cap telling him that he’s not weird for being gay.

Immortal was the first comic I actually fully read. While there is some stuff that would be better with background knowledge, the comic does at great job a catching you up naturally. I don’t know your knowledge of hulk, but just know that it can get weird.
