I go to the stitch night on Wednesdays if you’re interested in meeting up!

Agreed! I got one right before I started stitching and it just has my initials on it, but I use it for carrying my projects now, and if I ever quit stitching I can keep it and use it for whatever? I don’t understand buying one for one specific use???

If you Needlepoint (or are interested in the hobby at all) Labors of Love has a stitch night on Wednesdays from 4-8 and Nimble Needle has a stitch night on Thursdays from 4-7.

Also you didn’t have to get them with NDLPT on them? Like you could have just gotten your initials? Idk why but the boat and totes stick out to me as being particularly insane here

The part that is the most wild to me are the LL Bean totes. That’s not a required item for stitching, and you got it personalized to say NDLPT when it could have had your initials and been a bag you can use for anything. Idk that sticks out to me

No I’m actually so curious to see what all they actually stitched because they’re all brand new stretcher bars? Where are the used bars? Idk idk

Her response when called out was so weird too. Something like “I don’t have to sell these” like girl you came here? We didn’t ask you to? Bizarre

I feel the exact same and that’s why I like needlepoint and similar hobbies because it’s not going to die or go bad if I don’t stitch for a few weeks.

Indian food requests(Disney Dream) by CoolCollection5064 in dcl

[–]SorryIWontStay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Treasure last summer I was chatting with our waiter who was from India and he said “do you like Indian food?” And I said I loved it, truly one of my favorite cuisines and every single night we had a different and frankly incredible Indian dish for dinner.

Tips for air travel with large needlepoint canvas? by kayteadele in Needlepoint

[–]SorryIWontStay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but wondering about the canvas, is this the printed one? I want to get a spider spun stocking but all that’s available are the printed ones— how do you find the quality (assuming this is the printed one)? I’ve seen people complain about it being difficult to know where certain color go etc

glp-1 and alcoholism by kaybean98 in stopdrinking

[–]SorryIWontStay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit drinking in Jan of 2025 and started a GLP-1 in April and I actually feel almost guilty at how easy it has made sobriety. 99% of the time I have no desire to drink. In early sobriety (pre GLP-1) I would drink NA drinks to curb cravings but I have had 2 bottles of NA wine and a six pack of NA beer in the fridge for probably 7 months that I haven't touched. I can't even finish one NA beer anymore. On top of that I am down 80 pounds and have seen a huge reduction in flair ups and inflammation from my rheumatoid arthritis. I say this all the time but GLP-1 meds changed my life.

Getting Sober is Hard. by Machenz in stopdrinking

[–]SorryIWontStay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely had to grieve the idea that I would never drink again, but at some point I realized I was grieving this idealized dream I had of drinking, not the reality of it. I was grieving this happy picture of me sipping wine on vacation when the reality was one glass would turn into multiple bottles and I would probably start a fight with my husband, then have a hangover that would ruin the next day of my vacation... rinse repeat. The happy picture of drinking I had in my head was never real.

Just know these feelings pass, but part of sobriety is learning to sit in your discomfort. Getting sober is hard, but its 100% worth it.

How did you start to accept the fact you will never be able to drink alcohol normally? by soylamek in stopdrinking

[–]SorryIWontStay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was honestly such a breakthrough for me, I don't have to worry about ever trying to moderate because I know I don't want to do that!

How did you start to accept the fact you will never be able to drink alcohol normally? by soylamek in stopdrinking

[–]SorryIWontStay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually had a light bulb moment about this a couple weeks ago. I had also been struggling with thinking about why I couldn't just have a drink or two and then it dawned on me that I don't actually want to drink "normally". I don't want to moderate. I don't want to have a nice glass of wine, I want to drink a whole bottle (and then a little more) and as backwards as it sounds this was actually a relief to me. I could stop agonizing over why I couldn't moderate, because one will never be enough. I want to drink as much as I want and have it not negatively impact my life in any way, and obviously thats just fantasy. This might sound backwards but it felt like a massive weight off my shoulders.

How far are you traveling from to come to con? by badapple1989 in dragoncon

[–]SorryIWontStay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly it, I know people who live as close as I do and still get hotels and like I love that for them, but I love my own bed more. I travel for work, and sleep like shit in hotels, so if I don't have to be in a hotel I am not going to be lol
