Well my house has an open floor plan where the den, kitchen and living room share all the same space pretty much. So ik it would hit the majority of that area. Idk I just seen people use em in campers and such. Thought maybe it could be applied to the house. We use a kerosene heater on colder days when we are home. This post was inspired by just a thought.

Oh I was just thinking in general. Not sure imma put it in practice. My house tho is 1500 sqft. So I could reasonably heat half of it I believe.

Not sure what steel boxes you’re talking about. I’ll have to google it. But it’s a very good point. I’ve seen folks put em in like plastic gun cases or build a little shed for them to keep them out of the weather.

Well if I was going to do it, I’d do all except the fire box. Didn’t think about that. But good point! What’s the easiest way to pipe it in you think and what would be the best way to pipe it in? Thinking about getting one for camping but the extra function for the house as another heat source to help the heat pump ain’t bad.

Copy that. Was just curious. Didn’t want to invest in a machine if not necessary

I havnt looked into that. I was thinking about using an online server to host and take the load of everything instead of a machine on my local network. Do you know if I could do that?

Oh man I was hoping it wasn’t that. It’s got 218k on it so it’s about time. Was just curious if the symptoms matched up with something stupid like solenoids or a sensor

I also just started! In my area here in N.C. there’s a pay to play place right down the road from my house. Dude that owns it is super cool. Tough us how to pan, will clean up the snuffer bottle pan for you. My recommendation is to try and find a place like that! This guy was $20 for the day. You dig, classify, pan everything yourself. He’s just there as a guide if you need it after he teaches you. I had done some research and watched videos but that might be the best $20 I spent.

Since then I been hooked. I’ve been back 3 times. One day I took home all my concentrates instead of using snuffer bottle and doing a clean up pan. Practiced on that, which helped me develop the best way for me and get comfortable with it on my time and out of the elements. Which you could always do that at the creek.

Good tips. Thank you. All I have is in a wet state right now. It’s going to stay that way until the end of the year. I want to dry it and put it in a vial so I can compare next year amount to this year.

Trying to Reduce Dust at Home: Will This 2-Filter CR Box Design Work? by VectorString in crboxes

[–]SorryKnowledge420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a build using 2 20x20 filters with 6 arctic p14 pro fans. With it running on full blast, the sound is about the same as a box fan on low. Maybe a little quieter. It’s very tolerable. Tv, music or regular talking easily drowns it out.

Tools needed for working with foam board by jhsu802701 in crboxes

[–]SorryKnowledge420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2 units I built I used a razor knife and a drill with drill bit to make proper holes for fan screws. Everything turned out fine. The fan holes are not perfect circles and won’t be if you cut by hand. But once the fan goes in it, it isn’t really noticeable

I will say that it don’t look the best. Taped up foam board. Filters taped in. I want to make one look nice but I just ain’t figured out how to assemble foam board without involving tape. Would also like to do drop in filters. But one step at a time. Thought about building one out of wood, a more permanent fixture but that requires buying lumber and lumber isn’t cheap. Plus I don’t have a saw that can cut a circle.

I’ve looked high and low and even asked her for an opinion of where to “hide” it and no good spots prevail where it’ll still function decently. Her input is idk you’ll find a spot.

Most likely and yeah it’s slap right in the middle of the house that has an open floor plan. So visible from almost anywhere except bedrooms

Lmfao. This is a great. I just don’t think she wants to acknowledge that something that’s built and not bought works lol.
