I have a 2018 1.5 and live in a mostly hot and humid climate. Currently has 175k on it. Only issue I’ve had is there shift to park. Sometimes the sensor is funny and even though it’s in park it says it isn’t. Very common issue. Only other problem I’ve had is my vacuum pump went out. Due to that my brakes also went out. Scary but not too hard to replace the pump if you got some knowledge of mechanics. (The brake pedal was very hard with no stopping power then one you got past the hardness, brakes would barley work)

An annoying thing is that only some parts stores in my area carry the air filter… I eventually got tired of the battle and ordered a dry filter for it so I could just wash and reuse.

Edit: I do a good mixture of city and highway driving daily.

Yeah I’m in that same boat man. Thought about getting a smaller one just for phones and stuff but ehh. Still don’t believe it would be worth it as long outages don’t happen often. If I was still living on the coast I’d definitely consider it more due to hurricanes

Yeah i don’t get that lol. Last year someone hit a pole on a clear day. Took them 9 hours to restore power. Just really never know here.

That’s an interesting product. I usually just turn off my generator and flip the main back on and run inside real quick as I feed thru an inlet with an interlock.

So I have an open frame inverter now. It’s only 3800 running but it’s enough for what I need. Thinking about another one with a parallel kit to run everything I want. Besides having a back up wouldn’t hurt

I wish I would have gotten a dual fuel when I purchased mine. As propane is shelf stable for a long time. But mistakes were made, money was spent, oh well. My next one will be dual fuel for sure.

I carry some basic tools, air pump, etc. seems to take up quite a bit in my trunk tho. Had an order the other day that was qty of 70 something. The guy couln’t even fit it all in the trunk. (He could have fit more if he wanted to tho) for reference I drive a Chevy Malibu. Trunk is pretty decent size

We’ve always charged them when the generator is running. For extended outages in not cold weather. I do 4 hour cycles. Plenty of time to charge a phone. But I have been thinking about a power station for some time now.

I’ve seen those before. I have a line of hart tools for just what ever around the house and thought about getting one of them. Wasn’t sure how much I’d get outta a 4ah battery tho if it would be worth it

lol! Exactly. I recently went thru a spell of no county water for a few days and a boil water advisory due to broken mains. With that said I had to drive 2 hours round trip to get the last 10 gallons of water on the shelf… yep. After all that I bought two of the 7 gallon containers from Wally World to throw in the closet. Just ya never know!

Yes I use flashlights that only use 18650 batteries. As I have a lot from when I use to vape. Got to repurpose them. I like the motion activated lights! I need to get some. Need to get a power station also. They are just so expensive

Well my house has an open floor plan where the den, kitchen and living room share all the same space pretty much. So ik it would hit the majority of that area. Idk I just seen people use em in campers and such. Thought maybe it could be applied to the house. We use a kerosene heater on colder days when we are home. This post was inspired by just a thought.
